I am only writing this review here because there is no email or contact on the web site. First time we went a few months ago we sat in the back where the band plays. Excellent service, food was very good (although a tad pricey) Second time, this past Saturday, we took out of town guests to the restaurant. Although... More

Had crab legs, waited too long with empty place and food was warm. Lacked taste, service was mediocre. Wouldn't go back.

I have no complaints about this place. I found it on Restaurants.com and it was a good. A little further outside of Chapel Hill than I thought it would be but none the less, we ate good. Our server was awesome.

We love the well cooked fish and baked potatoes. There is nothing like a giant portion of friend flounder brought home for the family. We discovered this place during lent but keep coming back for the quality price and quantity

I go to Captain John's several times a month. It is always good, the crab cakes are tremendous. All crab meat and no filler. If you like crab these are the cakes to get. The specials are always worth a try.

We have enjoyed dining at Captain John's for almost 20 years. The food is fresh and well-prepared. In addition to the fairly large menu, daily specials are offered and the staff will usually accommodate special requests. The decor has been upgraded to include a "tiki bar" area that features an open-mike music night on alternate Wednesday evenings.

We (4 of us) had dinner at the Dockside Restaurant last night and went there specifically for the Greek cuisine and the cooking of John, the owner and Executive Chef. We started the meal with a delicious Greek Salad that we shared and a side-order of Fried Calamari. The salad was fresh and beautiful and the Calamari was cooked to... More

Had fresh red snapper done Mediterranean style simply fantastic. I try to eat at Captain Johns at least once or twice a month. The fish is always fresh from North Carolina and can be prepared with nominal oil or butter if you are concerned, when it is done Mediterranean style. Well worth the stop.

On the spur of the moment, we decided to eat a Captain John's Dockside restaurant. It was a delightful encore with the broiled salmon Mediterranean and the linguini and clams. The prices were great and the service was friendly. It's great to renew old acquaintances. This is good value eating!!!!
