We dined here during graduation weekend. We had a party of 10 and (a reservation) were seated and welcomed. We had a mix of family with more and less experience in this food. Our waitress was able to explain the menu to us and help with choices. We wanted to experience a variety of menu options, share family style and... More

This was my first Indian food in several years. Cholanad has set a new standard for Indian flavors. My wife and I had the vegetarian sampler and for my entree, I had the Tandoori spice crusted scallops and my wife had the Gobi Manchurian. We rounded out the dinner with pistachio Street Side Kulfi.

Ordered take-out last night and agree that Choland serves the best Indian food in the Triangle! We ordered the wings and prawns chettinad for appetizers, and chicken tikka masala and spice crusted scallops for entrees. Both the wings and prawns were fantastic as were both the scallops and chicken tikka masala. Service was outstanding! I was impressed by the professionalism... More

Very wide choice of Indian dishes. Great appetizers. I had the biryani. Get extra yogurt sauce to temper the spices, but an excellent dish. Generous portions. You can get all the traditional dishes like Lamb Saag and Chicken masala but this is a great place to try unusual Asian cuisine.

Large portions and a authentic dishes. The dosas are huge and very reminiscent of being served in India. I think best Indian in area. Service can be a little better during busy times- our server was not as knowledgeable as we hoped.

Good authentic South Indian restaurant. Seafood dishes are just perfect. Weekends are tough to get a table but worth the wait.

Cholanad seems to have fallen off mym list after my last visit. Not up to the standard of the previous ownership and lacks the attention to detail. Southern Indian food is some of the best eating in the world. Please improve and I will be back!

I am not certain when this location transitioned from the former high end place it was a few years ago to Cholanad but I think it is an improvement. The atmosphere is nice, table cloths, etc. but it has a cozy feel as well. I went to dinner with some friends and was very pleased with the food, the acoustics... More

We have been twice with another couple. Both times everyone ordered something different. So, we've have sampled 8 entrees, the breads, and other appetizers. The food is distinctive and delicious with the right amount of spice and heat. We appreciate the impeccable service and the quiet atmosphere.

I ordered the paneer tikka masala, and was quite disappointed with the paneer itself. The sauce is kind of generic as well.
