At first glance the thought might be 'bearded hipster haven', go anyway! They may be wearing bowties but the bar staff is super knowledgeable, their bourbon (and other liquors) selection is impressive to say the least! Great old school wooden bar and lots of cozy leather chairs for small groups. Great spot! Craft cocktails that are 100% worth it.

Great local bar not inundated with college kids. Excellent drink menu handcrafted by experienced bartenders! Gem of a find!

Not that the Crunkleton needs yet another amazing review, but I have to give one. I have never had better cocktails or service than at this place. Gary Crunkleton knows how to procure fine choices and my husband and I nerd out entirely on their scotch, whiskey/bourbon and gin selection. Mr. Crunkleton also offers classes at times (at Southern Season... More

The Crunkleton is hands down the best bar in the triangle, and one of the very best bars in the southeastern USA. That includes Charleston, New Orleans and and other damn place youn can name. Owner Gary is a Star with a capitol S. The bartenders are all comsumate professionals, the surroundings are comfortable ala a high end NYC midtown... More

They always have unique adult beverages and I can always bring friends there that are routinely blown away by what they do.

Went in for a drink with friends on Friday around 10. Not too crowded and a good vibe. My drink was tasty, but my friend's was a bit off to us. We've had plenty of Blood and Sands in our time, and this one was just a bit off. I went back to the bartender to ask him to try... More

Nice to be able to go to a bar that has revived the art of the cocktail and has a good array of bourbons.

The Crunkleton is a great place to have a cocktail. The selection of whiskey is beyond comprehenion. Great bar staff and my first tasta of a barrel agen cocktail, this time a Manhattan, and it was great, a little smoother and pricier but good.

It can be hard to find a bar in a college town where you don't feel really old. This is one of them. Excellent (and unusual) cocktails, pool tables in back (free), and a classy atmosphere.

We stopped in and had a couple of drinks. Known as a whiskey bar. New to me, have to pay $5 to become a member and tou can bring in up to two guests. I didn't really pay attention to the reason, something like its nc law if the place doesn't serve food you are required to become a member.... More
