Great place - good food - great service. The hostess Sophia and waiter Sam made us welcome and the service was excellent. Food was great - steaks cooked to order. The mac&cheese - I would recommend strongly - it is delicious. It was a Sunday...evening but there were a lot of regulars it seemed. Just for the phenomenal service - I would recommend this place - nice - casual but elegant.More

The atmosphere was nice but was not happy about being seated at the first table at the entrance. There were too many ppl in my party for this table. Calamari was not calamari. It tasted like chicken fingers. Filet mignon was tender. However when the...waiter brought out the food they never asked who had well done, well or medium they just gave out plates. The waitress was the best. There was nothing that stood out about dining here that would make me want to come back. It was mediocre for me.More

They’ve been around for years and haven’t slipped in quality (as some restaurants do). I always order the calamari – thick pieces not overcooked with a spicy sweet Thai chili sauce. I opted for a Caesar salad – wasn’t that hungry. But the halibut others...ordered was beautiful and huge. The restaurant was busy and we were a party of 8, yet service was prompt and the waiter was attentive and knowledgeable.More

Made reservations to celebrate a milestone for my 18 year-old son at Dresslers, and identified that event in the reservation made online. The evening started off shakily and then went downhill from there. Two teammates were at the stand and they looked up coolly (no...smiles) when we arrived. My son offered that we have reservations and our last name. One member replied, “You have reservations?” Yes. “The name?” Name was offered again. “We don’t have a reservation in that name.” Ok, I get it, no system is perfect. I don’t blame the restaurant. The teammate looked over their shoulder to review the dining room, and offered, “We can seat you if you like.” Umm… we’re here, we thought we had reservations, and there were only two occupied tables. Would not a better response have be, “I’m sorry but I don’t have a reservation for you, but I am happy to seat you (smile), this way please.” We were also dressed in coats and ties, how about, “What brings you to us tonight?” To the teammates’ credit they walked us to the table, waited for us to be seated and then handed us menus. I opened my napkin and found a dirty knife. Our waiter appeared in short order. His appearance was somewhat unkempt he mumbled a bit. He also swayed back and forth. Unkempt + mumble + swaying became more distracting as the night progressed. Returning for our orders I explained that my son had never been to a steakhouse before and I asked that the offerings be explained. Sorry, but explaining the steaks as “small and juicy,” “flat” and “slightly thicker” weren’t sufficient in my opinion. Our wedge salads were acceptable, but we were both presented with bitter cores and were thus unable to enjoy the entire experience. The waiter asked if we wanted salt or pepper on our salads and I requested pepper. The server disappeared for a moment and returned with a grinder which was placed in the middle of the table. One positive throughout the night was as we emptied our water glasses they were discreetly filled by another party. However, our server spilled a fair amount of water and ice on our tablecloth during one refill. The dinners were presented. The collards were excellent, kudos to the kitchen staff. My son ordered short ribs on risotto. He leaned to me and offered, “my risotto is better.” The strip I ordered was cooked as requested on the inside. The steak itself was overly salty, by a wide margin, and tougher to cut than I expected. I requested a sauce on the side and did not receive what was requested. The waiter came by as my son was chewing his last bite of dinner and his plate was taken away. Since this is a finer dining establishment, I would prefer to have both dishes removed concurrently. As the server walked away my son’s silverware went flying onto an unoccupied table and the floor. Groan. The server returned with a dessert menu, identified his favorite and left. I looked at him with an, “I’m still eating” look. My son calmly waited while I finished my meal. The carrot cake was ordered and was acceptable but under-presented with a small slice of strawberry on the side. No offer was made for coffee or a cocktail for me. The bill arrived as the last bite of cake was taken with a standard, “I’ll take this when you are ready.” Note: There were a couple of people walking about during our dinner and I assume they were front or back of house staff. Again I offer my opinion, I would expect one of them to check on us, especially as there were only a handful of tables occupied. Sorry, almost every element of the night was a swing and a miss. One star is given for the really well-prepared collards mentioned above and the attention paid to our water glasses..More

Short ribs and crabcakes were great. Service was wonderful. The only problem was the pathetically small serving of apple crisp for $9.

First let me start off by saying I was looking for other options within the area to celebrate my fiancé birthday. However, I am sooo glad I didn't cancel this reservation. This place is beautiful. Nothing but pure professionalism from the time we walked in...until the time we left. They offer complimentary valet parking which is a plus for me.The food and ambience were absolutely"Amazing"!!! The staff were very polite and on point with everything. Our waitress "Heather" was phenomenal. Since it was our 1st time there, she gave us a little bit of history about the place. Thanks for making my fiancés birthday special and for a wonderful fine dinning experience. I highly recommend this place. Trust me, you will not regret it!!!!More

Had a superb birthday dinner at Dressler’s. Service was outstanding from the servers to the hostess or made feel at home. The appetizers were delicious, fried calamari and house salad were both fresh and full of flavor. I would definitely recommend the Short Rib and...Salmon, which our table both enjoyed. Also the risotto was absolutely delicious. Couldn’t have made for a better birthday dinner for our daughter who was turning 21, complimentary glasses of champagne was appreciated.More

Amazing dinner and service! First time here and we looked on TA for recommendations. We sat outside and if the weather is good i highly recommend. There is some foot traffic in the area but there is a beautiful view of the city. We started...off with thr crab cake. It was cooked to perfection and loved the pecan remoulade. I got the braised short rib with risotto for my main. No knife needed. Beef was cooked well great flavor and loved the risotto. We shared a side of the brussel sprouts which were also very good and enough yo share for 3. My wife got the scallops and they were some of the best I have had in a long time. Our waiter Michael was super nice and on top on every aspect of the meal. I drink alot of water and I never went dry. The only downside is I felt liquor prices were stretched. Twice drinks and I could of bought the bottle! But that was my only complaint. We will definitely be back in the future.More

We were in Charlotte and went to one of our favorites. Weather was great for an August night and almost everyone was sitting outside. Had an amazing dinner that included shrimp and grits, halibut and a special wagyu hanger steak. All were great. For appetizers...he had the crab cake, chopped salad that had a champagne vinaigrette dressing (highly recommend and it’s big enough to share). When we come here we always have the cheesecake for dessert. It’s fluffy yet firm(I can’t explain it but you need to experience it)and it did not disappoint. Our server, Gil, had only been on the job for a few days and he was great. He made our experience awesome.More

I have to admit, while trying to make a reservation (birthday/ Father's Day) to eat at really nice, upscale restaurant in downtime Charlotte, Dresslers was not my first choice; however, I'm beyond ecstatic that we ended up here. First of all, I really can't even...continue this review without first praising the hospitality of the staff at this establishment... they were second to none and definitely made my wife and I feel welcome. The surrounding/ atmosphere of the establishment was very beautiful with a really nice view of several prominent Charlotte high rises that came alive at night... this just made the experience even more social. The menu was very well put together but not overly extensive which can leave the diner divided on choosing an entrée. We decided to start our experience with the Thai Peanut Calamari. I really enjoyed this dish. The Calamari were fresh and the Thai peanut really helped to elevate this dish. I have to admit tho, the same exuberant was not shared by my wife, considering the freshness of this dish. For our entrées, we both opted for the 16oz KC Strip with an added lump crab cake, and shared a southern mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts sides. The steak was seasoned to perfection and cooked to desired temperature we order... every bite just seemed to melt in our mouths. The mashed potatoes was creamy and very satisfying; however, the real star of the show was the the brussel sprouts. Lightly roasted with bacon jam, balsamic, and added parmesan... we just couldn't get enough of it. Our overall experience was very satisfying and we just can't wait to visit again. By the way, complimentary valet is also provided.More
