The food and the service are outstanding. This is a pre-fixe menu or chef's tasting restaurant only. The choices are excellent. Very romantic. If you are with a group, anticipate a 3 hours experience.

A beautiful setting, amazing food and service in downtown Charlotte. Exceeded our expectations. Enjoyed the pear salad, tuna tartare, duck and salmon. Dessert was the only part of the menu which wasn't to the same standard as the appetizers and entree. Next visit will definitely go with dinner with wine pairing.

On a Tuesday night we dined at the McNinch House for the first time, and we enjoyed an anniversary dinner in a wonderful setting, with excellent service. Although the menus are pre-fixe, there were plenty of choices, and we liked the crab bisque, the beet salad, and especially the foie gras.

My husband and I went to the McNinch House Restaurant after hearing about it from Carolina History and Haunts tour. The restaurant waiter was perfect, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was so romantic. The venison Wellington was to die for and the chocolate creme brûlée was outstanding. The most surprising thing to me was the only staff we... More

Getting there for our 8:30 seating time at 8:20, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait or so. We could wait outside as there is no bar area. Asked if the wife and I could order a glass of wine since we were celebrating our anniversary. Was told someone would be out to help. Two people did... More

Over the years have been to McNinch House several times. Although the original format has changed (in the past one had to order entree selection several days before one's reservation), for several years they now have a choice of 5, 7, or 9 course dinners with multiple choices for each course and selections are made at the start of dinner.... I had very high expectations for this dining experience but found it to be quite disappointing. We were one of only two tables in the entire restaurant (it was a Tuesday evening). While the service was nice the food was only average (which was quite surprising). I started with a crab cake, which arrived fried and without much flavor or... More

I reserved dinner for a Saturday night and can share the following. We knew it was going to be a traditional old style NC type home, but it felt like we were eating in a funeral home. Learned about the history of house when I inquired about spooky pictures on walls - it was interesting. I use TI a lot... More

We have been fortunate to dine at the McNinch House about a dozen times over as many years and have noticed a slight change in its dining offering and with it a slight leaning to the mean vs the culinary extreme....It may just be a sign of the times. With that said, let there be no misunderstanding...Our best ever dining... More

If you need that special occasion restaurant in Charlotte, that place that you have saved for years waiting for that graduation, wedding anniversary or big announcement, then the McNinch House is your fine dining choice to celebrate that occasion. Plan to spend two plus hours here, because at the McNinch House five course and seven course dining experiences await. Once... More
