Delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. The breakfast was so good one morning, my husband and I split a delicious sandwich and chips for lunch and ate a late supper. jolenepittman@ymail.com

We had breakfast at The Lifesaving Station and it was great. The pancakes were large, the sausage was good and they even had gluten free bread for our son. Our only mistake was ordering our eggs scrambled because I don't think they were real eggs. The service was pretty slow as well but may have just been our particular waitress.... More

Thank you dining with us and taking the time to review your experience. We are glad you enjoyed your breakfast. We appreciate the need for the service times to allow for a quick in and out and will improve upon this. We do use real eggs. More

I received a gift card and went to the restaurant. Was blown away by Chef Zack Root's menu. My wife and I had heirloom tomato burratta and the Chef's gnocchi with pacetta. The main course was duck breast for her and seared sea scallops for me. Dessert was bourbon ice cream with bacon/pecan brittle with chocolate nutella fudge. My goodness... More

We enjoyed great breakfasts, lunches and dinner at this refreshed eatery at Sanderling Inn. The mussels were amazing! Well done tasteful decor in crisp blue and white with a historical touch. Very nice ambiance. There's an adjoining bar where Jeff served up a wonderfully hot bowl of Corn chowder soup one rainy evening.

We are glad you enjoyed all the menus at the Lifesaving Station as well as the renovations. The signature corn and crab chowder was the family recipe and was a staple from when they opened in 1985. Glad you enjoyed! More

I love the Lifesaving Station for so many reasons. On a recent visit to Duck I enjoyed two delicious brunches there - a scrumptious omelet and fruit both times - and had the most delightful service, courtesy of Yentyl on both visits. She was wonderfully attentive, fixed me a to-go cup of iced tea to take with me and was... More

Thank you for joining us for the brunches! We had shared your warm comments directly with Yentyl. Kimball's Kitchen will start brunch each Sunday 11am - 3pm May 28th until October 8th. Please give that a try as well. More

Had breakfast here one morning when staying at the resort. Very nice setting. Food was good, but not great. Service was fine, but not great. I suspect it was early in season and they were still getting staffed up. It was all good, but I thought it needed to be just a bit better to meet the standards of the... More

We had no traffic on the way down from NoVa today, and arrived earlier than usual. I called The Lifesaving Station, to make sure it was open for a late lunch, and we arrived a few minutes later. We were warmly greeted by the staff, and were happy to see that the recent renovations have been completed. The salad with... More

Their foot is locally sourced and to die for. The chocolate mousse cake is soooooooo good! Plus they just got soft shell crab in and it is divine.

The lifesaving station is located at the Sanderling Inn. Each time we come we stop by for breakfast. Yummy rolls, eggs benedict and fresh squeezed OJ.

They were lacking waitstaff, our server was being over worked due to someone not showing up so the service was very SLOW. The food was expensive for breakfast and not worth the price. The first omelette was burnt and dry, the second omelette was good but had to wait for it while my spouse was eating. The biscuits and sausage... More

Located in the original—and splendidly restored—Caffey’s Inlet Life Saving Station No. 5, the Lifesaving Station is a casual, three-meal-a-day restaurant celebrating southern coastal cuisine and regional, organic products. New with the renovations is a spacious outside seating deck and large fireplace. Known for its “best breakfast on the Outer Banks” and a-la-carte Sunday brunch, the Lifesaving Station is a favorite Duck, N.C. restaurant choice for both locals and vacationers. And be sure the try the Lifesaving Station’s famous Carolina BBQ Sampler and Spring Mountain Farms Buttermilk Fried Chicken, always on the menu. The Lifesaving Station maintains an impressive wine list. Local breweries are featured while specialty cocktails feature coastal “house cocktails” and bourbons. Upstairs, the renovated No. 5 offers sweeping views of the Currituck Sound. The relaxed atmosphere is conducive to catching the game and enjoying quality cuisine.
