As others have said, you ain't coming for the building, parking lot or decor, but if you know anything about BBQ you can spot a great BBQ shack. The food is truly true. You can taste generations of people who know how to cook. The staff is top notch quick, friendly and folks that you want to know.

I don't care what you think about the building, the parking lot, the walls, or the tables. You go to a place like this for the food. The pulled pork is outstanding, and the mac and cheese is amazing. Sure, it is typical fare for a BBQ joint, but they know how to do it right.

Very good pulled pork, sweet potatoes, macaroni cheese. Didn't like the ribs. Line out the door at lunch. Downhome place.

local Residence Inn brought in food from this restaurant, and it was very good. They had pork and turkey, and mac and cheese. co worker said she ate here al the time, so I went on Sunday and was disappointed they were closed on Sunday, but I will try again, after all everyone deserves a day off.

This is the spot for BBQ in Durham. Love the greens, macaroni and pulled pork. Always a line, and there is a reason.. Great food, good price and happy people working there.

The "authentic" BBQ atmosphere is a tell tale sign of good food. Take out is the answer here. We got 4 veggies and pulled pork and a rack of ribs and there was utter silence at the dinner table! Still may be #2 to our BBQ snobs, but everyone enjoyed it.

Food here is outstanding. The staff is wonderful. The working man's lunch is a "steal" for the price. Can't go here everyday, though, as your waistline will expand b/c of the mac n' cheese, collards, pulled turkey/pork combo, etc.

I am constantly on the lookout for great BBQ places and the food at this restaurant was quite impressive. They close at 6:00 and we got there at a little after 5:00, so they had run out of quite a few things like the brisket and the pork chops, to name a couple. I had the pulled pork, collard greens... It was very good eats. The place was non-stop busy. Its a little dirty inside and run down but the food is very good and must be a hit because people were in and out constantly. When you see older people with walkers slowly trotting in, you know its good food!
