I had heard about Mateo for the past few years but had not been able to get something set, however a friend got a few of us together there last Friday night. I was really glad to finally eat there and experience Spanish tapas with...More

We live several hours away from Durham and this was our second excellent meal here. This first time was downstairs which is fun, lively, and noisy. The second time was upstairs which was quiet and romantic as the space is sumptuously decorated. The food looks...More

We live in North Raleigh. The food here at Mateo is better than the food we had in Spain this year. It is made with care, it is original, and it tastes great. Must try the devil eggs, camarones. I had a lunch sandwich once...More

We used to go to Mateo's regularly but stopped because of the noise and service. Thought we'd give it another try, but left very disappointed.

an enjoyable evening to be sure. Had my salt intake for the month, however! Lovely new manager, staff seemed to be in a better mood than last couple of times that I've been in.

I have a crazy food allergy caused by a tick bite. Everyone here went overboard to make sure that I was safe. The food was delicious!

We ordered 5 different tappas dishes. Only one was descent. More fat than meat for the high end ham plate. Olives were marinated in a sauce that was way too bitter. We were excited to try the place and were very disappointed, to say the...More
