Went to Rue Cler for the first time. I must say, it won't be the last! Our server was very helpful. He told us the prices for the separate courses from the prix fixe menu, in case we didn't want the full dinner. He told...More

We went to Rue Cler on a Thursday at 5:00 PM. We had no reservations, but were the first ones there and were told to sit wherever we wanted. We chose one of the high tables in the window. Our server came immediately, was very...More

We have been here once for dinner and the menu seemed tired and dated to me. Rather rich and not very interesting. Service was ok not great. I would try it again since its a good location, maybe lunch next time

We had dinner at Rue Clere recently with a large group of family, the type of group that includes people of many different preferences. Rue Clere made everyone happy. Their dishes were imaginative and very well prepared. Excellent prix fixe choices. Good wines. Tempting desserts....More

I really like Rue Cler in downtown Durham. (It's easily accessible just across the street from the parking deck.) The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. And the menu choices are interesting-creative. They have a nice wine list. A first class venue I think. Prices are...More

We have gone to Rue Cler five times so far. Each meal has been great. The Frisee Salad is awesome, and begs a second helping. The steak and fries are done just right. Also had the specials (which change), good wine list, and service has...More

I had the verte salad with chicken. It was ok. I didn't realize until afterwards that it was only lettuce and no other vegetables, which is my fault, but still it was just ok. The beignets were good, but I wish you could order less...More

Amazing brunch menu. The food was superb. Service was excellent. Tables a little close, but I understand the need to pack them in as people crowd in at this Durham favorite. The fries are yummy. I mean really yummy. Try the patio on a beautiful...More

Description
Using our extensive network of regional farmers and fishermen and our close friends in the wine business, we have tried to adapt the experience of a Parisian neighborhood restaurant to offer a unique dining experience. Our food is inspired by French tradition and seasonal, local produce. The wines we serve are all made by vignerons that we know personally, who themselves love food, and who craft their wine to showcase the specific terroir, while harmonizing with the meal. Most of our vignerons practice biodynamic or organic farming.

Our prix fixe dinner menu showcases the freshest ingredients the southeast has to offer, prepared simply and with care, served at a bargain price.

We also serve classic bistro and brasserie dishes a la carte. Our popular lunch and brunch services feature French-styled sandwiches, crepes, salads, and more.
