The food is just mediocre, lacking the inspiration and execution of the previous chef/owner. Botton line: there are many better options in the Highlands market.

Our dinner at Lakeside, last night, was so wonderful that we will be returning for an encore on Saturday. The ambiance is charming and every detail a delight. My scallops were seared to perfection and my husband's flounder special was succulent. The accompanying veg were unusual and delicious. Don't miss the beet jam...yum. Service was personal and very pleasant. Nice... More

The cuisine (yes, it's not just food) and service are well worth chasing down this little back-street establishment. It is nested in a quiet neighborhood in lovely Highlands with a little lake coming up to the back lawn. Eating lightly, this time I settled for a lovely salad but was delighted at what others were having around me. It is... More

Tried this place only once. Food and service did not warrant a second try. There are too many opportunities in this area for great food to return here.

Very disappointed with both the food and service. The rib eye was at best average and trout overcooked. The restaurant was very busy which probably accounted for the poor service. For the cost of the dinner there are better many choices in Highlands.

It's been a while since we have visited Lakeside and so happy to report it is still going strong! We had a fabulous meal overlooking cute Harris Lake. I enjoyed a snapper special over pasta with veggies and a lemon cream sauce. One of the best meals I've had in recent memory! Don't miss desert - always something fabulous to... More

Terrific drinks, a restaurant special "Manhattan" was a delight. Dirty martini was excellent, an apple martini with the glass edge twirled in Carmel and crushed graham cracker was de-lish!! Tomato florentine soup was a hit. Wedge salad was excellent, the salad "special" with arugula and sliced baked apples with a pumpkin vinaigrette dressing was selected by two and they both... More

You cannot beat the view! we were seated outside and the view of the lake is mesmerizing. The weather was absolutely perfect for an al fresca experience. We had a wonderful bottle of wine and the food was delicious! The dessert was the best I had all year as it was a REAL pound cake complete with the crispy top!... More

We made reservations for an early dinner having heard it could get very crowded. The service was excellent from the greeter to the wait staff. We enjoyed cocktails before our dinner. We opted for indoor dining but new terrace seating was offered. Trout stuffed with bacon and crabmeat was my husband's entree choice. He was not disappointed and ate every... More

This is our second experience. The food and service were excellent. The presentation was lovely. I recommend the fillet and save room for the mud pie dessert
