We are staying up the hill at Grandmother Mountain and decided to have a special night out. I know the Eseeola from my annual visit to the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. The ambience is welcoming and there was no rush to be seated at the dinner table as we nursed our aperitifs in front of the fire in the Great... More

Beautiful room. Attentive service. Food that was just not good. We had a group of 7 adults on a Saturday evening. Appetizers & salads were good to excellent so we were surprised when the entrees arrived. Several ordered short ribs. On the plate were 3 thin slabs of dry well done meat - no sauce, no gravy! The accompanying brussel... More

This is the best Seafood buffet. The crab is putofvthe shell piled high on plates. Calamari, lobster tails, shrimp, lox, sides, famous for their butternut squash casserole (OMG). Desserts include key lime pie, cherry pie, pecan pie, chocolate cake cookies and sooo much more. There are only 2 settings, one at 6:30 and one at 8:30 approx $84.00 a person total... More

We were visiting the area and called the Eseeola Lodge dining room to inquire if we needed tone a member and if there was a dress code. We were told " No sir we are a public restaurant and we do not have a dress code for lunch" . We made a reservation and drove 45 minutes. The hostess looked... More

If you have not tried Eseeola's Thursday night Seafood Buffet, you must give it a try. Arrive around 6:30 or 7PM with reservations. Jacket but no tie necessary. Probably around 200 folks being served. Spacious tables and multiple rooms. First class seafood and a perfect Prime Rib slso available. The shrimp, lump crab meat and lobster tails are prepared perfectly.... More

The lobby, bar, and restaurant are physically beautiful. The food, though, was rather bland, and the service was just OK. For the prices, I would expect a little more taste and exceptional service.

There is near universal agreement of TripAdvisor reviewers of this place that it deserves five stars. That is undoubtedly true most of the time, but we stayed and ate there when the chef was absent, and that, in the opinion of one staff member, was the reason for inferior food. The dining room wait staff and the bartender are first... More

First you need to "dress' for dinner. The atmosphere is quiet and reserved. The flower arrangements on the tables are small and intimate. Other flower arrangements in the building are beautiful and most of the flowers are grown in their own garden. If you are seated by a window you overlook rolling hills, flowers, and a brook with a small bridge... More

The Eseeola Lodge Dining Room is attractive and offers good food and service in a community with limited choices. The wine list is limited but offers a variety of choices and prices including by the glass. The Wednesday seafood buffet is exceptional and advance reservations are recommended. The adjacent bar is well tended and welcome.
