I highly recommend the Soul Rolls, they were surprisingly delicious. I had the brisket and turkey. Good brisket though I've had better but the turkey wasn't my cup of tea. Great sweet potato fries! I wanted to love it but just didn't meet my expectations....More

My wife and I stopped for an early supper before a concert. They do team service with three servers, which got confusing at times, and I honestly believe the service would be better with only one server. The food was delicious. The pork cheese fries...More

I am a huge fan of meat in general but especially pork. I often proclaim pigs to be magical creatures. If you don't believe this to be true, you may after eating at The Pit! This is TRUE Eastern North Carolina BBQ (you know, Vinegar...More

This is not "fine dining" No white table cloths, Just Great food and fun people. I'm from the northwest, but if this is southern cooking I'm moving! The waitress who waited on us had the patience of a saint and was so helpful.

Loved the corn bread app. Don't decide if I love the chicken, ribs or pulled pork the most. Want to return very soon.

Couldn't miss having some BBQ on a recent business trip and The Pit scratched that itch and then some. Though wishing that they piled on the really delicious sides as much as the meat -- but that's BBQ for you!

Despite the many excellent reviews of this restaurant I found it utterly unpleasant. The service and clientele are pretentious rude and rushed. The food is overpriced overcooked and underwhelming on every single level. Frankly I don't think the barbecue is worth the death of the...More

We ate here after doing the Pedal Pub. There were 7 in our group. My wife and I had the BB ribs with cabbage and fries for sides. Everything was excellent! We would definitely go back when in Raleigh.
