Great food. Great service and great atmosphere. We had to wait to be seated but no longer than they wait we were told. Nice big bar to wait in. Ribs are amazing.

The Pit was recommended by a friend that was born and raised in North Carolina. It was fantastic. Loved every bite. Cool place. Great service. It was my first time to NC and wanted to try the BBQ. I learned that there are two types of BBQ in NC. My girlfriend and I liked both. But my fav was the... More

I had the triple combo and was not disappointed it was a lot of food and very good BBQ, cornbread, and HUGE carrot cake. Good service and cool atmosphere.

Very good BBQ restaurant with a variety of meats. They also give you a lot of food for a good deal. The Carolina style BBQ and chopped BBQ is pretty good. Very different from regular Texas style BBQ. The sauce is very vinegary, strong, and a little spicy. I prefer sweet BBQ but this was interesting to have. Also, the... More

The ribs and brisket are awesome. Be sure to get the fried Mac and Cheese as well. Service is friendly. Be sure to ask for more hush puppies!

I had a dinner there with my colleagues during a business trip in the city. Ribs are very good but side dishes could be improved. Usually you have to wait due to a long queue.

My boyfriend and I met a friend at this restaurant at the friend's recommendation. He told us that no matter what we order we will love it. He was not wrong. We all shared the family style meal with the cheese balls, fried green tomatoes, chicken, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, okra, and carrot cake. Each course of the meal... More

I call this more of a fancy BBQ joint as it is definitively not your average hole-in-the-wall bbq place that you can find in many towns in NC. This food is very good, but the price is a little higher than some other joints within the triangle region. However, the atmosphere is terrific and it is a great place to... More

The Pit is a bit of an institution in Raleigh. The BBQ is consistently very good, and the menu is wide-ranging. You can choose, pulled pork, chopped BBQ, BBQ turkey, chicken or beef. On a recent visit, we found the sides to be the best in show. Our table ordered one of everything and ranked the homemade cream corn, collard... More
