If you want the perfect place to celebrate, be romantic, or to just have one of the very best dining experiences dine here. The service is impeccable, the food is wonderful and the wines and cocktails perfect. Order ANYTHING and it will be perfect!

We went for my birthday last December. We made reservations but we're told we needed to wait in the downstairs bar area, had two drinks there before finally being squeezed into an area right by kitchen door. Took a long time for everything to arrive, when we finally were brought our main courses the wait staff gave my dish to... More

I have eaten at Second Empire Restaurant many times. The food is very good but pricey. I only go for special ocassions. The Bar Menu should add a couple of lower priced items. Overall, very nice place.

what you should have, which by-the-glass wine pairings will go with each course, and then do it. The server will have tasted most of the menu items and someone in the hierarchy has chosen the wines for the evening. We were impressed.

We went here on my boyfriends birthday, the staff gave us a complementary bottle of wine and a personalized menu for him to take home! The service was wonderful; fast and attentive. The food came out at a good pace and was phenomenal as well.

This place was fabulous. The candle light linen table cloth all in an historic house setting is great for you and love one. The food was cooked perfect and presented very well. I recommend the scallops.

May have been the best ribeye I've had. However, hard to enjoy when they were out of many items ordered by the group and the poor service we received from our waiter. Would love to have that steak again but I think I would order carry out!

I am a regular customer both for events and dinner. Visited last night with an international visitor. Wanted to start the evening with cocktails. Ordered grey goose martinis. Told they were out. Went to kettle one, out as well. This is a top notch restaurant and you cannot offer Covington vodka when your customers expect premium brands. Spoke to the... More

This place is the best restaurant in Raleigh, hands down. It is a bit pricey for everyday dining, so we only come for special occasions, but we are NEVER disappointed. Frankly, plenty of restaurants charge the same without this quality, especially at the beaches. There are affordable wines, too. My husband even eats things he doesn't like here -- because... More

I was in Raleigh for 'Art in the Carolinas' and found this GREAT restaurant! It is a reason to go to Raleigh. We ate downstairs their brick walled pub and returned two nights later. They have a divine wait staff and great menu offerings. Enjoy! If an artist, do take in the once a year learning event 'Art in the... More
