Outstanding meal in nice small setting, probably one of the nicest dining experiences we have had in a couple of months. I had the duck with pumpkin pierogi's which were delicious, my husband had the venison and veal meatballs which he alsothoroughly enjoyed. It was a nice touch having chef stop by table and inquire about meal.

Just remember what it is...a German/Polish restaurant, and you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for trendy bistro fare, then this probably isn't the place for you. They have bratwursts, schnitzel, spaetzle, pierogies, good German beer, and a surprisingly robust wine selection. When we visited, they also had a delicious pan-seared flounder with spaetzle and a gruyere-topped baked oyster appetizer... More

Somewhat small than other nearby places but the food is superior, and service excellent. More limited menu I think allows them to focus on quality of each dish.

I really wanted to like this place. I have been thinking I should go for years. I love good kielbasa, brats and pierogi. So this year for my birthday we decided to do lunch at J.Betskis. Unfortunately the pierogi all had onion so they were not an option for me. They offer two kielbasa and one brat. I had the... More

The food was very good, but the menu was limited. I enjoyed my meal, but my husband's pork chop was thick and a little dry. The dessert was superb. We were seated almost immediately, but we did have reservations. It looked as though others had just a short wait time. The service was excellent and our server made very good entree... More

Lots of atmosphere in this restaurant with a Polish flavor. The staff are super friendly and the food is excellent, especially if you enjoy Polish cuisine. The bar area is a bit narrow so can be awkward to navigate when busy - and the times I've been it's usually busy. I had their speciality beetroot cocktail - an acquired taste... More

J. Betski's isn't one of my favorite places in Raleigh. Light German is my favorite way to describe!

The food is wonderful. The only thing I had against this restaurant is the hours. We were looking for a late lunch around 3PM and it did not open until 5:30 as I recall. But it is very upscale much more than Appleby's et al'

If I had the money, I'd eat here every day. Ironically: I put off going here for years, because I was turned off by other people raving about their sausages (it's sausage for crying out loud). I've had to eat my words on so many occasions. Turns out: the food is perfectly seasoned (mushroom/cabbage pierogi, homemade sausages, nice salads), and... More
