My wife is of eastern European descent, and remembers her grandmother making Kielbasa, Perogies, and other traditional eastern European food. She was thrilled with the food at J. Betski's. It was delicious and authentic, and it triggered fond memories for my wife.

We had a limited time for lunch and the places around the convention center had very long lines. My wife and I fired up the vehicle and got it out of the Convention Center Parking Garage and fired up Google. The place we originally set...More

This is one of my favorite places in Raleigh. It's definitely a hidden gem and they're OK with that. Because the restaurant is on the small side it can be hard to score a table without a reservation but we love sitting at the bar...More

Check what they are serving before you venture there for dinner and make that a phone call because their website is different from what they are actually serving. It's a small place with equally small menu and variations. I ended up ordering the pierogie appetizer...More

Food was downright excellent! Make sure you try J Betski's homemade Kielbasa! Had the Port Schnitzel which was outstanding. Very attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff which always says a lot about a restaurant.

We started with an appetizer of Pierogies (3 per plate) and baked oysters (4 per plate). The Pierogies were a real treat and one could make a meal of these alone. The oyster special appetizer was just OK. The kids wanted to try the sausages...More

This is in our regular rotation of places to dine out. Nice change of pace from the usual burger/bistro fare. The German entrees, in particular, are authentic and great-tasting.
