On South Main Street in Salisbury, NC, there is this little grill that has graced Salisbury since the 1980's. It is a "hole-in-the-wall" niche eatery selling hot dogs and hamburgers, hand over fist, as fast as they can cook them during the limited hours of 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. (They recently changed hours a bit to pick up the... More

Haps is Salisbury Downtown....we always stop in when we are in town. Standing room only (outside), but it is a must do every chance we get to stop in.

You stand in a line out the door, order at the counter, pay cash, eat standing up, and you do it again and again because it's just so darn good!

Since the mid-80's when the original Owner 'Hap' opened this literal hole in the wall standing only dive, the hot dogs coming out of this place are legendary! And the burgers are just as good! It's modeled after Ward's Grill in Whiteville, NC and if you want a little deja vu experience, go visit Ward's after visiting Hap's. Depending on... More

I was given a recommendation to try this place. It is by no means fancy, but it has good food. I absolutely love the battered pork chop sandwich! You can get it "dipped" in sauce or without. I prefer it without but both are delicious!

I wanted to go to this place a couple years ago.... I saw the people standing in line for a hotdog or burger...but when I visited recently there wasn't a line and it wasn't as good as I had hoped. For one, our hotdogs were not as cooked as my friend said they usually are...somewhat charred with grill marks...ours had... More

Hap's Grill is absolutely a local famous place! They cook hot dogs and burgers, and your food is made fresh to order when you walk up to the counter! The chili is the best I have ever had! They have bags of chips that you can add to your order if desired. And a limited number of bottled drinks or... More

Talk about simple easy and hot. The walk up grill is the best burger in town. Cash only and there's a language to order (don't worry, they will interpret). No seating, but an easy read/short menu.

A very well-established and iconic hot dog place. Was a line out the building on a Saturday. Very very small place hustled you in and out. Mostly all take out. Average hot dogs. Better hot dogs at other places.
