Found this place a few years ago and now every time we are in Ocean Isle, Supply or beaches nearby, we have to stop for lunch or dinner. We've had the salads, burgers, and of course shrimp, fish and crab legs. Never have had a bad meal. Wait staff has always been friendly and attentative. It's not near anything else,... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 4 November 2016

While walking on Holden Beach, we met two young ladies who told us about the Inlet View Bar and Grill, located just a few miles out of Shallotte, NC. The restaurant is located at the intersection of the Shallotte River and the Intercostal Waterway, with the western end of Holden Beach and the ocean in view. The food and service... More

We ate outside where we could admire the beautiful water view. I recommend the Grilled Chicken and Shrimp, and the Yellow Fin Tuna (which was cooked perfectly). Casual, laid back atmosphere, but very upscale food. A great place to eat no matter the occassion. FYI- there are different levels, if you can't use the stairs the elevator is in the... More

Met with friends in the area and wanted a place with a nice view to have a lunch and drinks. Great location on the waterway with the ocean beyond. The top floor in the sun, 2nd floor covered but you still have the view. Food good, two of us had the tuna -tasty but a tad salty - service great... More

This place is wonderful . My husband and I along with our friends have eaten here for several years. The service is good. We love to eat on their beautiful porch and watch the sunset.

This restaurant has really great views and atmosphere. When we were there, the bar area had entertainment which was very nice. The food was very good. We did find the service a bit on the poor side however. We actually returned the next night and again found the food very good and the service poor. That's unfortunate. We will go... More

My wife and I had lunch today. It was our first visit even though we've talked about it several times. The service was friendly and prompt. Great waitress. Every- thing was cooked just right. The peel and eat shrimp were great. Also, the She Crab soup was very tasty. My wife men- tioned the Clam Chowder was a tad bit... More

Such a lovely spot. Great waterfront bar and restaurant. 2nd floor has the full sit downs restaurant and on the upper deck has a full bar and big menu with a casual feel. Service is great, Outdoor patio seating. Fabulous spot.

Description
In 1978, C.W Hughes, Jr., who owned a paving company, and his wife Allison, a retired nurse, bought a small grill, motel and marina previously called Gregory's. It was located at the mouth of the Shallotte River and the Intracoastal Waterway. The grill had 13 stools around a bar and a small tackle shop. It was named Hughes Marina and home of the Poor Boy Shark Tournament for 14 years. It was a popular restaurant with the locals. It became home for Jr., Allison and their 11-year-old daughter, Samantha. For many of those years they poured their hearts and souls into the restaurant and marina. Their other daughter Amy and her husband John, both teachers, moved from Georgia to help. It continued to get bigger and attract more customers. In 1992, the girls took over the business, which continued to grow until they closed in 2004. On July 30, 2009, Sam and Timmy, her fiancé, opened the doors of Inlet View, a restaurant with a new look and an elevator that can take you to breathtaking views both from the restaurant on the first floor and a panoramic view from the bar on the second floor, which is surrounded by decks. Their dream became real with the help of friends and family.
