My grandson and I had a very enjoyable dinner here on Tuesday evening, May 16th, after a full day attractions from Wilmington down to Holden Beach. Delicious, well proportioned meals, happy/friendly staff, meant we'll be coming back here!

Coconut shrimp and Hush puppies were very good! Fried shrimp and crabcakes also good. Service was very efficient and friendly. I wish the spicy shrimp appetizers had more sauce

A Holden Beach favorite! Been in business and family owned for nearly 40 years. Try the Redneck Egg rolls for something unique. The Shrimp Trio is great if you can't decide what to get and don't worry if you have non seafood people in your group...the Alfredo is delicious and the burgers are huge!

First of all he service was excellent, our waitress was very attentive and very friendly. We looked up the restaurant on google before we headed that way, said they open at 4, they really open at 4:30, so we had to sit in the parking lot for 30 min. The meal was nothing great, fried seafood platter was undercooked, I... More

We went out to dinner at the Seafood Barn and had tough, grisly ribeye steaks. The hushpuppies on the table were a nice touch but the meal itself was disappointing. The shrimp in the surf and turf were overcooked although the coconut shrimp appetizer was tasty. The Caesar salad was OK. The real shocker: Margarine, not butter, served with both... More

We went for dinner in a busy Saturday evening. We all ordered different seafood dishes and all were over cooked and disappointing on flavor. The hush puppies were great and the staff very nice and attentive. Not really a place I will return to☹️

After reading some not-so-great reviews from past customers, we decided to give The Seafood Barn a try because we live close by. We ordered the Shrimp Trio (see photo) & the Fish & Shrimp combo. Both were fantastic! The sweet potato, slaw & hush puppies that came with our meal were great as well. The waitress was friendly & very... More

I have eaten here for years (decades!)....my latest two visits have been very, very good. I got the large fried seafood platter and my wife got the fried clams. Our portions were very large and the food cooked well with minimal batter. The prices have definitely gotten higher, but I guess that's true many places. Our service was very good... More

we've been coming to Holden for decades and eating at the Barn was always one thing we would done at least once, if not twice. I had read that the quality of food had gone way down and we just couldn't believe it. Sadly, it's true. Hush puppies were tasteless, scallops were under cooked and the shrimp, well, we've had... This place had amazing food and great service. Pricing isn't terribly high, but I have to share what happened. My mother and I ate here last weekend while I was on a business trip to the area. I paid for our meal with a Visa Gift Card that had plenty on it to cover the cost of our meal. The... More
