I'll caveat this review by saying I'm from Maryland. Crabs, beer and football, that's what Maryland does. I went in with an open mind. We had a little bit of a wait but it went quickly. We sat at a picnic style table and I really enjoyed the décor. It was like we were at the beach. The restaurant is... More

My wife and I both agreed. Crabcakes just awesome! We will return. Low key. Friendly staff. Great food.

I have to say this place has the best crab cakes in NC. Reminds me of home. We eat here several times throughout the year. Being from the DMV, blue crabs ... a must. Not a huge fan of the snow crab legs but they are my kids absolute favorite while I love the blue crabs.

I'm from MD and when I eat a crab cake I expect lump white crabmeat with very little filler lightly grilled. It should fall apart into chunks when you put a fork in it. You know the seafood is fresh when they sell out of key items such as blue crabs, every night.

We went here because there were rave reviews about it but we were beyond disappointed. First, we were a party of 7 and they had an open table that sat 6-10. When we had been waiting 15 min (they quoted us 45) we asked about that table. They told us they were waiting to save that for a larger party... More

...for the food as much as just hanging out with fabulous people who run this restaurant. Maryland Crabcakes at their best, but really, everything is good. It's casual, and it's truly a family restaurant. Mostly, because they make us feel like family. We will continue to come back often.

You have not had real seafood until you've visited Backfins Crab House. They have the best crab cakes! Other places claim to serve crab cakes, but you find yourself eating more bread crumbs than anything else. At Back Fins, the crab cakes are huge, and full of crab meat (absolutely delicious)!!!!
