Fries were good. That’s about all. Most of what we had seemed frozen food reheated. Wings, meatball sub (packaged marinara sauce?? Did not taste fresh). Disappointing.

We stopped in today to grab some lunch, and we were so glad we did! This was our first time here and we'll definitely be back. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing, just like a local place should be. But the...star of the show was the service, we were fortunate enough to have Lauren take care of us. She was perfect! She acted like we had known her for years, so personable and genuine. We chatted over the course of our visit, and at the end, we talked about the Duke-UNC rivalry. She invited us back to come watch the seasons final game, but I'm positive we'll be back before then. We live in Winston-Salem, so it's a short day trip up to West Jefferson. We can't wait to come back to such an awesome restaurant!More

This was our first visit, and the experience was fantastic. The service, selections, food quality was exceptional. We will be returning again for lunch tomorrow.

We went July4th and it was packed. Was told would be 45 minute wait on food. 2 hours later we got our burgers and fries that the owner cooked. The menu did say a table of 6 or more would be charged 20% automatic gratuity....With food over cooked, long wait and several grumpy waitresses, my table of 7 left with 3 seperate checks where we were charged 20% PER CHECK. Complained re the per check fee and was told checks already printed, nothing can be done about it. One waitress had a VERY bad attitude while the others tried to cover for her. Not one of the waitresses knew they charged PER CHECK. So we left feeling we def did not get our moneys worth even on holiday.More

Went for lunch with my wife ordered the 6 chicken wings and nachos the wings were very small in-fact they were the smallest I have ever seen , the nachos were small and had very little chili on them as well as had beans in...the chili I will think twice before ever going back in there.More

We're locals and have patronized this place for the past 10 years. Monday night, with most other restaurants in town closed, we went to Black Jack's and the two of us each had a burger, fries and an iced tea. The burgers, ordered medium rare,...arrived well done. The total bill, before tip, was $41.50. This place definitely doesn't rate the gourmet prices, and the service is second rate. On any day but Monday, we suggest you try the Tavern instead.More

The food was really good. All of us got different burgers, and we were all happy. They did get my order mixed up, but they offered to make me what I ordered when the problem was discovered. I liked my burger so much that I...declined their offer.More

Met friends there we hadn't seen in yrs. Lunch was wonderful - BLT wrap amazing, burgers good as well. Chef salads were also large and very good.. Service was excellent, allowed us to sit and visit long after we finished our meal.

We dined on Sunday evening since few restaurants are open downtown West Jefferson. Sitting outside, we saw their sign boasting Best Burgers- so we tried the burgers. To me the burger was fine but my husband prefers bigger, juicier and rarer cooked burgers. It was...an okay dinner, nothing special. Waiter was very friendly.More

Top 3 burgers I have ever had. We eat burgers all the time but we are just eating burgers. This burger was real wonderful. We sat outside and had enjoyable dinner. Stopped here in July, decided to eat inside since it was pretty hot. Hubs ordered the "black and blue" burger and was very please, I had the tomato wrap ham and turkey and it was super as well. Our daughter ordered the pizza appetizer as...her meal and she was not happy with it. The tomatoes on it were not cut very small (they were huge) and they were not cooked, just placed on there cold. Other than that, we receive great service and will know in the future not to order the pizza.More
