We popped in for lunch and had chilli with mini scones and butter, which was delicious and a latte which was also perfect. Charming service and an eclectic setting. Recommended.

This place was perfect for a brunch stop. We stopped here on a trip where we went from Philadelphia and all along the east coast and ended up in Nova Scotia. My husband and I both agree that this was the best place we've eaten...More

The Biscuit Eater, cafe and bookstore, Mahone Bay... Delightful!! A platter of beet hummus, goat cheese, fresh green olives, artichoke/red pepper (pickled), deli meat (no salmon available unfortunately), FRESH figs/pear/blackberries drizzled with balsamic reduction served with crisp buttered flatbread.

This little hideaway is a perfect spot for afternoon tea/coffee which you can enjoy on their terrace or inside in the library. It is rather intimate and not a great spot for private conversations. They have an interesting selection of books which may be borrowed.

We love dogs! Because of food regulations they can't come inside the restaurant but are more than welcome on our big patio 😊

Hi - We just saw your question on Trip Advisor. Yes, all of our sandwich specials can be made with gluten free bread, and we have various other gluten free options as well. We're open all year round. Thanks!

Description
The Biscuit Eater is a friendly community cafe and bookstore serving homemade, handmade goodness in Mahone Bay's oldest building. Fresh baked buttermilk biscuits, locally roasted coffee, stacks of cookies and baked treats, delicious soups, sandwiches and daily specials are all made with care daily by new owners Jessika and Chris and our talented chef Laurie Zwicker. Take a seat by the hearth in a cozy chair, have lunch in the library, grab a snack to go, or visit with old and new friends in the common room - here the warmth of community is alive, well, and waiting to welcome you. We are accessible, family friendly, inclusive and open to all our neighbours from our oldest customer (98!) to biscuit babies. Our new winter hours are Monday - Saturday from 9-4, keep your eye on our Facebook page for evening events, markets, and workshops. We are also available to host your special events, weddings, and creative retreats, contact us with your ideas and collaborations!
