Good location, nice space. The chowder was a large serving and apparently tasted good, the Western was cool and soggy, the fish and chips were left unfinished - chips from a plastic bag and batter unpleasant. It could have been saved by decent service. One...More
The food was ok if a bit too greasy and the chowder was average. Service was really slow though. It is a very small cafe, with about 6-8 tables. Waitress kept forgetting things on our order and we had to keep reminding her to bring...More
We ventured back to Tatamagouche to pickup craft beer to bring back to Ontario with us. We needed breakfast after that! The place was packed with local retirees who all knew one another and they were having fun reminiscing and teasing one another. The atmosphere...More
Visited the Chowder house this weekend. Very quiet post lunch hour. We enjoyed the fresh homemade chowder, generou portion, excellent flavor with a good assortment of fresh fish in cream base. Service was friendly and prompt recommend highly

ate at this restaurant most of the time that I was in Tatamagouche, NS. The food is excellent, the best fish and chips that I have eaten with a large portion. I had the seafood chowder and that was great too. The prices are very...More
Small restaurant with friendly service. We both had different chowders that were great. We split a lobster sandwich on a bun that had huge pieces of fresh lobster. The desserts were home made. A great place to have lunch.
