I loved this place the moment I walked in. Quaint and impressive at the same time. Wonderful cheese selection- great sandwiches made fresh and the turkey and Brie is just perfect. Great selection of baked goods- I tried to resist but watched others order what clearly were staples for them. Wish I lived closer... But probably better that I don't!... More

We found La Rumeur Affamee on a map of the places that have inspired the creation of Louise Penny's village of Three Pines. We can see why she used it as inspiration for La Boulangerie. As well as baked goods It is full of interesting things to eat like meats, cheese. We bought some maple tarts and a loaf of... More

The smells and sights of the many enticing cheeses, breads, meats, spreads and treats dazzles. One of the best selections of these kinds of foods that can be found anywhere, Highly recommended. The proprietor, on our first visit there, slyly did not deny he thought that one of Louise Penny's characters might have seemed like him. Worth the trip to... More

I love croissants. There, I said it. This place had the best in Sutton. I tried their sandwiches also, which were all wonderful, including a veggie pate. Prior to leaving Sutton, I stopped here specifically for a croissant, because they looked so delicious. That croissant was so delicious. It was flaky, butter, and just so good. staff were also friendly... More

The food is so good and there's a variety of choices for decent prices. Ambiance is charming and there's wifi so that's fun. But omg. The service is so freaking slow. I don't get it. Everything is great except for the slow service.

We visit Sutton often. It's our tradition around the Holidays to pick up cheese, pate and the ever popular Canadian maple pie. La Rumeur has the yummiest! My husband makes sure everyone knows about the amazing almond croissant we had from here on our way to Montreal one time. It was so good we had to pull over to thoroughly... More

Wonderful shop offering good selection of locally produced products. We were happy with everything we purchased here. Great selection of cheeses. Lovely restored building. It's located on the main street and easy to find.
