I went for a nice casual stroll down the charming Calzado de los Frailes and dropped in to La Calzada for a spot of lunch. I sat in the outside patio area near the front door (it was surprisingly cool, insofar as it was a was a hot day and I was, essentially, sitting outside.) Anyway, I had a Yucutecan... More

I visit Valladolid often and lived there for a Time. My long-time favorite was recently a disappointment as I reviewed here. So have been searching around a bit. My first visit was for lunch and I found both the food and service to be excellent. A young friendly but very attentive staff you really seem to be proud of their... More

We had a great meal here on the rooftop terrace, very peaceful and lovely food. Great service, would recommend if you are looking for somewhere decent to eat. The mole enchiladas were lovely!

Visited this restaurant once, for early dinner. As it was neither lunch, nor dinner time, very few tables were occupied. The restaurant premises were clean, service was quite good and efficient. They have quite an extensive menu, including mexican and international fares. Our food was freshly cooked and tasty. We had chicken in chocolate sauce, pork (pibil?) and fish, salads... More

We wandered in after having checked out other restaurants. Food was especially good - great service - and great prices.

Amazing prices considering the quality of both service, location, atmosphere and of course the food! I just popped in for a beer and a quick snack and stayed for 2,5 very pleasant hours. By myself! :)

Stopped in here for a cold beer and bite to eat; left 2 hours later for an extended siesta! While we were sipping on our cold Bohemia in a frosted mug, our server suggested we check out the weekend buffet. We declined-having sworn off them in general principle since our only cruise-but he insisted. After a look at the 14+... More

Really enjoyed the ambiance and food. Traditional food, big helpings and affordable. I would recommend this place for authentic food at a good price.

Wanted to eat somewhere nice quite relaxing and have a nice cold beer away from touristy area after visiting the cenotes. This restaurant was recommended from the hotel we were staying at, so we decided to check it out and was not disappointed, had some great food and a couple of cold beers just what I wanted.....gracias a La Calzada!

We wanted to eat away from the larger tourist restaurants on the main square, and found La Calzada up the lovely street 41-A, the route to the convent. A sweet place and just perfect for us. We were early, so at first we the only ones there (pretty normal, since Mexicans eat far later than we do!). The first positive... More
