We went here on a Sunday afternoon and order outside for take-out. I've been to the restaurant in the past (usually take-out) and the food was ok - nothing special but nothing wrong with it. I am giving this restaurant a 1-star review for two...More

Soy-Free fish and chips were a solid choice for two of us. Wifey likes the lobster roll. Kid liked the Tuna salad. Great views on the deck, just watch out for the gulls or they will steal your lunch.

I've been here twice with my girlfriend to watch the sunset and enjoy some good food. The view, if you get a seat outside, is phenomenal! And the food is great as well! Wonda was our waitress and she was very friendly. If you like...More

There are great views right outside of this restaurant, and the ambiance, workers and food are great. It is very peaceful. There are also some little stores around with great shopping.

When visiting the Cliffs be sure to make time for a meal at the Aquinnah Shop Restaurant. It is by far ,the most lovely and breath taking views up island. Time seems to stop when seated on the outdoor terrace where you can see almost...More

There are a few things that everyone must do during their first visit to Martha's Vineyard and eating at Aquinnah Shop Restaurant is one of them. The staff is very friendly. The food is not high end but it is local fare, tastily prepared. A...More

I rate this highly for the spectacular views of the Vineyard Sound. The staff were welcoming and friendly too. There was a nod to the history of the local native American community but I would have loved to see more. As a vegetarian, the pickings...More

My husband was last here 30 years ago. This morning he said "Let's take a drive to Gay Head, I know a great place for lunch looking over the water." He was right! The view was just as he remembered and so was the food....More

On a sunny day, breakfast at the Aquinnah is one of life's great pleasures. The food is good -- try the blue flour pancakes or waffles -- but it's the view that overwhelms.

I'm pretty sure it is. You may want to give them a call (508) 645.3867 before heading over. If closed There's a good take out place across from the entry. I'd go just for the view. :)

Description
Our restaurant was founded at the beginning of World War II by Napolean Madison, the Wampanoag tribal medicine man, and whaler. Presently it is owned by Napoleans son Luther, his wife Anne, and her son Cully. Much of the fish that we use is cought by Wampanoag people from the surrounding waters.
