The boot & slipper is a standard chef and brewer gastro pub. We go there as they do a lovely range of food and you can use your Tesco vouchers £2.50 being worth £10 on food. We usually only spend £15 on drinks and have a 3 course meal. As you arrive at the pub you notice there is a... More

Don't go if you are on a work lunch hour. Service is so slow. Had to hurry them up 3 times with a very basic lunch order. Didn't get served within our hours break hence making us late in returning to the office. Food was average at best.

My wife & I enjoyed an excellent lunch at this delightful pub/restaurant. We shared a poorly presented but tasty prawn cocktail to begin with & both ordered a rib eye steak for the main course. This was perfectly cooked & came with a delicious onion cake & excellent chips. We ended by sharing a truly superb plum crumble & vanilla... More

Great selection of food and beer, very friendly staff. The only issue was they ran out a particular dish of what we had wanted, but even so the food we did order was excellent and good value. At least it tells you that it is freshly prepared. The pies looked excellent! We would visit again.

We arrived on the spur of the moment, late for lunch, on Easter Sunday and were pleased to be given a good table in a nice corner. I had the Italian Platter and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was presented in a series of separate bowls, offering the opportunity to dip into and taste each one as preferred. The crispy... More

My wife and I popped in without booking early on a Saturday evening and were lucky to get a table. Good place for decent beer and decent food. Need to time it right though as service can be patchy. Good value though.

Popped in on the off cuff for as we fancied some British pub grub. All the staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. Had scallops from the specials, they're were cooked to perfection. The mains (fish pie & lasagna) were ok. Will definitely go back tho & try more things off of the menu :)

Great choice and variety in the spring menu, and decent food at decent prices. Not sure why it's rated so low on trip advisor, I come here frequently and never have an issue out of the norm. Sometimes service can be a bit slow, and also they do run out of some items, but it happens. What matters is decent... More

Good food. Although I'm normally a pie girl, and guys these pies have bottoms !!!!!😋, delicious well presented food, simple and tasty... but their home made stacked burgers, are worth a try ! Very tasty. My only complaint is they are too big to pick up an eat so in company a Knife an fork should be used ... georgous!!!
