Went for lunch today and were amazed at the very high standard of the home cooked food. It was probably one of the best meals we've had in a long time. Moira's home made big chips to die for. Will definitely be visiting more often....More

This pub alongside the canal is a great place to visit great food and beers. Inside a bit basic but on hot days the outside area is great as the name suggest a canal lock right outside.

For the THIRD time running we have visited for a lunchtime meal only to find they had no chef! This place is not a restaurant any more.

Have enjoyed many a lovely meal here, and some interesting ales, has a cosy interior and welcomes dogs. Lovely seating area outside with several picnic tables, enjoy a cool drink or some superb food whilst watching the narrowboats traverse the lock in front of you.

Hi there, thinking of coming down on Tuesday (12th April) for a meal with my husband but just checking if you have a high chair as we would like to bring our 18 month old girl with us. Jenny

Do you have a website so I could look at your menu? We're looking to book a table for 7 on the 27th of June around 2-230 as we've been before but we have a couple of fussy eaters so would like to see a menu before we book. The fish platter was fantastic which is why we want to come back. Thanks. Darren.

Description
A traditional canal side watering hole, steeped in waterways culture and heritage. Boat shaped bar features no corporates but 6 local craft ales and 3 local craft lagers are made available alongside real ciders and perrys. The food is quite simply out of this world, locally sourced of course, contemporary interpretations of heritage cuisine using traditional methods. Chef Tom's fresh and loving preparation of all dishes reflects his passion for cooking and the satisfaction he gets from delivering more than is expected. Enjoy lively folk sessions in the bar and waterside entertainment in the summer, including the Middlewich Folk 'n' Boat Festival in June. Slow down, take a break and find a way to enjoy Dean's hospitality and The King's Lock Experience.
