Had food here in the past and it was fine...just went for a drink in the bar the other day...some miserable people in the bar that look down at you...made us feel uneasy and not wanting to stay for a second drink.

Thought I was safe with Cheshire Cheese sandwich and relish. Not here!! Processed slices of some tasteless, sweaty, 'stuff' and bright red liquid 'relish'. When I questioned whether the 'cheese' was indeed Cheshire. Guy behind the bar smirked!! Poor quality and overpriced!!

Visiting the Anderton boat lift found the place packed so back tracked here for a lunch. We were not disappointed. Nice country pub with atmosphere. The food was good and reasonably priced, and served very quickly.
