We visited The Bears Head last Wednesday on a not so warm and rainy day. Both of us decided on the lunch time menu and ordered. I would like to say the place was not very warm and I was a bit surprised at this due to the inclement weather outside. Anyway the food came and I will say it... More

Out of a party of 3 of us one meal was overcooked and the other had to be sent back as it was cold. When asked by another waitress how were our meals she had no answer when we told her our complaints. Clearly expecting us to say all in fine. I sent in a complaint and two days later... More

Stopped off for late lunch en route to The Lake District. Delicious starter of cheese starter with bread & veg crudités, followed by ham egg and chips/fish & chips. Food served very quickly yet freshly prepared. Definitely would go here again. Beautiful pub and would look even more appealing with pretty flowering baskets outside doorway rather than dead ones. Possibly... More

This busy pub is just off the M6 near leafy Holmes Chapel. It is an ideal point to stop over if you are driving from Scotland to deepest England. Furthermore, it also allows you to see some of affluent Cheshire, towns like Knutsford with its McLaren dealership on The Heath. For star-gazers, Jodrell Bank Observatory hosts a number of radio... Great service accommodated without a booking even though they were busy. Food was great and the children's menu offered a better choice of meals than most pubs. Would recommend as it is a warm friendly place.
