Really engined our meals good pub grub we both had food from the special board and really enjoyed and would come again. Lots of private seating areas do you don't feel on top of other dinners.

My father and I dined here at lunchtime and enjoyed a couple of real ales. I live in Tarporley and highly recommend this place. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.

We visited early on a Wednesday evening. Our waitress was lovely, the wait was reasonable and the food was just what you expect from pub grub. I had the fish pie, tasty and they didn't scrimp on the cheese but why serve chips with something with a potato topping? My friend had the steak pie, lovely pastry and the meat... More

Called here on our way to A weekend with friends. Had not booked but were accommodated on a table immediately. We all had Sunday lunch and it was most enjoyable. Thank you

Monday's is often difficult to find places/pubs serving food but you can here. It was a bit quiet but not empty and the food was OK

Glad to see the Rising Sun is worth eating in again. Excellent steak and kidney pie - good pastry and lots of filling - and tasty chips. Spicy curry was beautifully presented and very good flavour.

Lunched here a number of times. Perfect venue when day tripping for that leisurely lunch break and a gentle stroll along the high street. Food good quality with light bite and full size meal options, priced accordingly. Chips and steak pie fabulous today. All staff team friendly and attentive. Olde world pub style and atmosphere to relax in with friends... More

We ate twice at the Rising Sun and the food was lovely, reasonably priced, hot and we didn't have to wait ages for it either. The pub is traditional which was nice too and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I'd certainly recommend it for somewhere to eat (or for a quiet drink) if you are staying in the... Glad to say that the Rising Sun is back on form and a paired down menu delivers good pub food which will keep us happy. Staff were welcoming and attentive and couldn't do more without being intrusive. My only comment would be the furniture and decor is in need of a refresh but when busy who would really notice!
