The Langstrath Country Inn is a welcome sight after a long walk on the Coast to Coast journey. It is set in the idyllic village of Stonethwaite. The restaurant with beautiful views of the Lake District hills is excellent with a menu offering plenty of local produce meals. The rooms were beautifully decorated but very small so there was not... Recommended by farmer on Chapel farm to this pub, nice quiet walk through farmyard to pub, staff in dining room very welcoming, the food though was exceptional, well presented and well worth the money, the dining room has beautiful views of the area. Situated off the main road in a quiet village with lovely walks in any direction. We were... More

We had dinner here (stayed at the Borrowdale YHA) and it was truly amazingly good for such a remote location. Good value for money, beautifully presented in a dining room with amazing views. Definitely recommended

If beer is your thing, then you're in the right place here with a good selection of local craft beers. Dogs allowed in the bar, and can sit in the food area at the back if you ask the staff. Restaurant was full so didn't eat but food smelt appetising and plates were empty!

We chanced on this fantastic restaurant when I noticed a sign off the Honister Road. it is a good mile down the lane, but well worth a visit. The food was well cooked, and of a high standard.

You really need to book this place as it is always busy from the local campsites, but they are very friendly and will do their best to try and fit you in if you are in the area (which to be honest would normally be unlikely as it is quite out of the way). The lamb and vegetable lasagne were... More

Walked from a local hotel down the road just following our noses up and down fell paths, when we came across this gem of a pub, they were serving Sunday roasts which seemed to be very popular with other diners, children and dogs included. Great selection of local beers, we had sandwiches and drinks prior to making our way back... More
