Stopped off on a pub crawl. Poured a decent real ale pint. Old worldly pub with plenty of seating. Outside space also good

The chips are awesome, better than any seaside chips I've ever had. Lovely staff, very accommodating with items chopping, changing and adding too.

Had lunch twice while we were on our second honey moon walking the lakes. Lovely food and service. Log burning fire was a lovely, welcoming sight and atmosphere after a hard walk along the Esk Trail.

This is a REAL Lakeland pub in every sense. Great real ales and the best real chips ever ..served by real genuine people. Unfussy decor but warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean bedroom with very welcome bath. Amazing breakfast...didn't eat again that day! We'll be back!...More
Stumbled upon this place having been left stranded at Dalegarth Station. Bar tender was helpful as he rang a taxi for us and established a price. Thanks Mr Bar Tender x
