This place is definitely worth a visit if you are near Staveley. Fod beer lovers there is an unparalleled range to sample, and for everyone else there is everything else a pub has, along with good food (or "beer tapas" if you just fancy some nibbles). The place was buzzing when we were there, and has a good atmosphere.

A splendid showcase for the beers of Hawkshead Brewery. Usually the full range plus seasonable beers are available. Truly excellent stuff! The food is just right to go with a few pints, served by very friendly staff. My favourite watering hole in the area by some margin

Hawkshead brewery's beer tap. Full range of their beers on tap and guest bottles also available. A little too open for my liking but there is always a good atmosphere

This is the Hawkshead Brewery tap and is probably the only place in the country where you can sample the whole range of their beers, ranging from the amazing Windermere Pale - only 3.6% alcohol but with a powerful hoppy taste - to their 7% IPA. There's also a small shop selling Hawkshead and other bottled beers as well as... More

We called here for the beer and certainly were not disappointed. The other half wasnt that impressed with the food but thats not what I came for!! The stout in particular was excellent, one of the better stouts on the circuit at the moment. All in all I tried five different beers and more than pleased with all of them,... More

Hubby is a real ale fan so we visited this place as its not too far away from us. The food is quite expensive for what it is to be honest, suspect that a lot of it is bought in and just reheated on site but there you go, sometimes its good and sometimes its not. On the positive side... More

Five of us called for a drink and snacks on our way to the Lakes for the weekend. All the beers we tried were good as always particularly the Windermere Pale and the Drystone stout. For food we ordered a selection of "Beer Tapas" . All were great but we loved the BBQ ribs and sweet corn fritters. Service was... More

I came for a brewery tour so didn't eat but would certainly go back. A thriving location with a naturally a wide range of beers but other drinks are there as well. As a brewery tour I think it's a good introduction due to the smaller size of the plant - helps you get a good overview and you can... More

We were a large family group who went last Sunday and we could not have had better food or service! The roast beef and roast mallard were "to die for". All dietary and other needs were met by friendly and efficient staff. We will be back! Alta la vista.

We have visited this beer hall several times over the years and every time I must have the shepherds pie. It never changes and is always superb and as previously remembered. My husband had fish and chips and he says they were better than last time as the batter was much crispier and not as stodgy. The beer was amazing... More
