Visited for drinks in February and again in March, there is an excellent selection of high quality drinks available - beers, wines and all kinds of spirits from around the world and many locally sourced too. The sauvinon blanc is delicious! There was a great...More

I'm absolutely delighted you enjoyed your recent visit. All the staff and management work terrifically hard to source really good drinks in our three bars. Our recent wine tasting day, for example, was very comprehensive! I hope you get the chance to visit again soon,...More

Not familiar with this area, we found this via the Internet. It was cold, it was miserable; that is the weather - March 2018. An unprecedented cold snap which brought chaos to the country. So how lucky were we to enjoy a superb Sunday lunch...More

Thank you so much for your review. The chef team work really hard on our Sunday lunches; the Yorkshire Puddings are made fresh on the day, the roast potatoes are slowly cooked in goose fat, the roast beef is slowly cooked over eight hours, the...More

Had a wonderful lunch at The Mill on a very wet and grey day. Such a warm atmosphere when you opened the door, we had bacon, Brie and cranberry rolls which were to die for...would thoroughly recommend the place.More

I'm a more "mature" restaurant reviewer and in fact this is my first ever. Once a year a group of ladies get together and visit a town to sip a sparkling wine and enjoy a nice meal. This year we chose Ulverston as we were...More

We were in Cumbria for a friends get together and we all went for a night out in Ulverston. I'd been to this pub (upstairs is more restaurant than pub) a few years ago and loved it, so I recommended we go there again. I...More

Thank you Paula for your kind review, I'm delighted you found our food continues to impress. You're right, we have had the occasional poor review, but that's to be expected bearing in mind the journey we've taken over the last 18 months. Finding talented chefs...More

Popped in last Sunday for a roast beef dinner with the wife. It wasn’t busy so we got a table and ordered straight away. Getting on for half an hour later our meals arrived, and it looked good. Sadly the beef was as tough as...More

Well, that's a really disappointing review. We work incredibly hard to do things the right way. We only use premium topside beef from Cumbrian bred stock, it's slowly cooked via the sous vide method for six hours ready for Sunday service. The roast potatoes are...More

Thanks for taking the time to write your recent review. We have tried really hard to keep the integrity of the building as one of Ulverston's ancient flour mills. Much of the internal paraphernalia on the ground and first floor is original. I hope you...More
