Cafe serving vegetarian food (limited menu but good), run by the Manjushri Buddhists from the local Coniston Priory. Charming service, good food ......... different (and all the more welcome for it) to the usual cafes. Worth a visit.

Wonderful to be able to get tasty, fresh vegan food in Cumbria! Non-vegans couldn't fail to find the food delicious either, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I popped in for lunch today with some friends and my 2 year old son. The food was freshly made to order and delicious, even my fussy eater of a son enjoyed the food I shared with him. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely well worth a visit.

If anyone is contemplating visiting the nearby Bhuddist Temple, then you can certainly get the atmosphere here. The monks and nuns speak excellent English. They make you most welcome and are not "in your face" at all. Literature and books from the temple are available and there is even meditation facilities if needed. The food is of an excellent standard... More

Very cool place, chilled out & relaxing atmosphere. Only had a tea and coffee, would have come back for a meal, but they closed at four.

Went here with partner and 13 year old daughter. Service was slow but the thing that I really objected to was being judged by the waiting staff. Partner and I had our drinks and when daughters drink came the waiter put it in front of me saying "this must be yours" I said no it is for her (my daughter)... More

A pleasant place to eat with no background music. The vegetarian food is really nice mainly snacks but a main course each day is available which I had 'vegetarian shepherds pie' it was very good very filling so I didn't a have a piece of cake from the selection which looked good. I did have to wait about 20mins for... More

We visited this cafe with elderly parents after experiencing the wonderful food at the Manjushri Buddhist Centre down the road. The food is healthy, vegetarian and tasty. The first time we had Cauliflower and Spicy Parsnip soup which really was the best soup I've tasted, the second time we had the Carrot and Sweet Potato soup which was equally tasty.... More
