First visit and we were delighted by the whole experience. Traditional cosy 17th century pub with a roaring fire and Christmas lights, excellent ale and a faultless Sunday lunch. Highly recommend the apple and berry crumble too. We'll be back!

Whaa a super old British country pub. Lots of nooks & crannys, super beer & menu. Super place to take an overseas visitor.

Good place to have a cheaper drink that nearby hotel we were staying at. Has a lot of character and looked to sell a range of pies. Nice location in village.

Tried this pub out on a Saturday night and was very impressed. Had a few guest ciders sat next to the warmth of the open fire place!

We visited with our two dogs for lunch. The interior is amazing, quite dark in places with several rooms some of which seem ancient. We had lunch which was plentiful, with delicious homemade chips. The dogs were well catered for with 'help yourself' dog biscuits...More

Description
A warm welcome awaits you at our family run pub, a hub for real ale drinkers and walkers alike. A traditional 17th century village inn, where highwayman Dick Turpin is reported to have frequented on his travels. An increasingly rare breed of unspoilt inn, where time has stood still, encapsulating the character and charm of the building. With fresh homecooked food, a selection of fine real ales and warmth from the open fires, there is much to tempt you. Nothing comes close to our pork pie and a pint!
