To often these days you get a really tasty main course but are left feeling hungry because of the small portions. The Saracen's Head does not suffer from this problem; on this, our second visit, not only was the food extremely tasty but it was also generous in size so that we left, fully satisfied, after eating. We mostly selected... More

I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, however the Saracens Head was completely different! It was a lot smaller but i think perhaps being a cold January evening we only saw a small part of it being used, this though added to its charm i think, as it was very cosy and friendly. From my initial phone call to... More

Very friendly when we dropped in on a cold January day for lunch. Good food, chatty other customers and an overall great experience. An extremely welcoming vibe. Looking forward to returning!

When you first enter, you might form the impression that the place would benefit from some redecoration. However, don't be put off, we found both the food, and the competent service very good. there was a wide choice of food, ranging from a la carte to fixed price two course lunch, which we had and was very good food, and... 6 walking friends enjoying Christmas lunch. We ate winter vegetable terrine, soups, mussels, pigeon breast and sea food. All were excellent.

We found this through the Good Pub Guide, although it is far less of a pub than a restaurant with rooms. It would be nice in the summer as it has a lovely garden, but this was November. It is in the middle of nowhere on a narrow country road, so you really need a sat.nav. to find it, although... More

Had a super evening, great food, friendly staff. Everyone was very happy with their meal - my partridge was lovely and moist as well as tasty, and this is a bird that is inclined to be dry. Looking forwards to my next meal here.

You have to venture out a bit into "the wilds" but The Saracens Head is worth the trouble since both the food and the service are very good
