After a tour of SA with an emphasis on food this is by far the best restaurant we visited. We sat down for dinner as the sun was setting and the golden light came through the stained glass windows casting a lovely glow over the whole interior. It is a very small old church and very tastefully decorated. The service... More

My family had previously eaten here the week before I arrived in Adelaide and just raved out this place so I was determined to eat there. Unfortunately our two bookings were cancelled due to the blackout of the State, but on my last day in Adelaide we were able to have lunch here. It would have to be the best... More

Third visit to Altar Bistro and it gets even better (didn't think that as possible). Food can be modified to suit individual tastes and value for money is unsurpassed. Our favourite SA restaurant

Wow: sumptuous is what comes to mind. Flavours perfectly blended and assembled with the greatest care and attention to create oral ecstasy. Great wine and a perfect setting and the service was excellent. Dining at its best.

This quaint little refurbished church on the Main Street of Willunga is home to (in my opinion) the best food in the South of Adelaide - it is a bit of a drive if you don't live south and is not cheap- but not expensive either... And this couple who own/run this establishment have set up a gem. The chef,... More

This is a unique dining experience. I have never had such heavenly food! The setting is very romantic and the service on two occasions I had been was very attentive and friendly by the waitress. We asked a few questions regarding the food and she was very informative. Tried different dishes both times, and what a gem. A memorable experience,... More

Lunch at Altar Bistro. Superb food & atmosphere. Quiet too. Loved the decor & chandeliers. Had the pumpkin risotto, best Ive had. And the coffee cream brulee was to die for.
