Nice place to eat a little off the main highway. Ate in the lounge and was able to watch a game while eating. Food was good. The seafood chowder was very tasty but could use a little more seafood in it. Staff was friendly.

I thought slow food was something I might like. This was just slow... Food The food was good. Cesar salad was good. If you want to eat but have lot of time to sit and enjoy the ambience of the staff calling in the missing help on the phone, then this is the place.

This place on a gravel road and up a hill overlooking Valley City. Five of us enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the bar for drinks and supper. The waitress was very friendly and good. We had kabobs, steak and wings that were all good. Prices were reasonable.

The view from the restaurant is great. You drive up a gravel road to get to the top of the hill. The service was great but the food was a bit overcooked - a bit dry. We had fish and chicken and both were just a little overcooked. The dessert brownie was awesome and enough to share with two or... More

I was looking for a place in Valley City when I was staying there that was laid back but high end food and service. This place did not disappoint. I had tried the bar and grill attached to my hotel and will not go back there anytime soon. City Light's was just what I was looking for. The owner was... More

I've eaten here several times over the years, but I find myself going less and less often. During my last visit, service was incredibly slow and limited. I ordered a medium rare New York strip steak. It showed up done medium well and covered in black pepper. I hate black pepper and this is the first time I've ordered a... More

We had a truly delightful dining experience at City Lights on our recent visit to Valley City. The restaurant has an up-scale feel but patrons felt comfortable in casual dress. The menu is varied but most importantly included walleye, a succulent fish unavailable in our city. The pasta and seafood were well-prepared and delicious, as was the walleye. A vast... More

We had friends from out of town visiting and they wanted to go to City Lights. Some of the salads were fresh and crisp and some were a bit slimy. Our group had a mix of excellent food and sub-par food. I think we would have been happier eating in the bar off the short order menu.

We tried both the City Lights Supper Club and Sabirs while in Valley City. City The food was not only better at City Lights but the service and hospitality was sooooo much better !!!!! If you're in the area take exit 292 to the top of the hill. You won't be disappointed. They treat you like you're somebody and feed... More
