Once again it was great! Went there for breakfast today. Spoke to John as I always do. What a nice guy. I have been going there 32 years. I had the "John's omelette" with mushrooms, cheese, tomato, onion, and hash browns-excellent! My son had the "crab meat omelette" he said it was great also. I can't believe all the breakfast selections, so... More

A great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Air conditioned in the summer, windows open at times for a breeze of fresh air. The black and white checkerboard walls, traditional counter and stools, and comfort food make this a must.

I try to patronize Lakewood businesses but will NEVER go to John's Diner again. I don't know if it was a rotten potato in my hash browns or a scouring pad that they used on the grill. I almost puked on their counter.

It's a diner...an old diner. You come here for good diner food, large portions, and very cheap prices. We come for the breakfasts and we return for the breakfasts. LOTS of options, friendly "seasoned citizen" waitresses, in a converted train car. You don't come here for atmosphere, but for nostalgia and to get filled on basic tasty diner food. Alert:... More

Had a less than appetizing time here for dinner a few years back but was told by a few people breakfast was a different story - and they were right. Tried the 3 (or was it 4?) meat omelet - it was accompanied by hash browns & toast. Order went in and it was sitting in front of me in... More

I had a very nice experience with my family. It is a genuine small simple diner with cheap food. My mom went twice during her stay and the staff not only remembered her but remembered she liked the milk shake and started getting it ready when they saw her walk in the door. I would definitely recommend for a nice... More

We were seated promptly for breakfast but the server we had :a girl named Elizabeth, I think, was not so good. eating while waiting on us, checking her i-phone and stepping outside for a smoke. food was great and was what we expected.

And I do mean no changes. I am sure the people working there were all there from when the place opened. They give you a lot of food for almost no money. Most dinners are $5.95. No I am not kidding. Service can be a little slow as the waitresses are easily 70 years old. Ok some may be younger... More
