There is nothing I can say about this place that is positive. The staff is not professional the food is not good and the place is dirty. That is all you need to know about Donna's Dinner!

They try to be a nice little diner, but just don't cut it. Servers can be rude and inattentive (and not dressed cleanly.) Food is average at best. In a great location on the square, but food quality is poor and prices kinda high. Poor menu selection, too.

Yes, she made the NYT. The food is nothing special and the staff is rude. She blames the residents of Elyria for not supporting her, but I'm not supporting bad food served with a scowl. The interior is cutish with a lot of potential and the location is in a very prime location downtown. With so few restaurants downtown, she... More

I've been here several times and none of them were great. Service is slow to non-existent. Place is very dirty and you may not get what you ordered. I ordered a Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad. Without speaking to me, I got a salad with lettuce, oranges w/peeling, bananas and chicken because they substituted the items they were out of. I... More

Brought to fame by a front-page series in the New York Times last fall, this great local diner serves classic American breakfasts with some interesting twists. We indulged in the pork-lover's omelette that included bacon, sausage, ham and god-knows what else from the pig. It was both generous and delicious. The diner is located in a lovely, historic red-brick building... More

I ordered the Greek Spinach Salad. The menu description said tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, black olives, etc. The salad was served with no tomatoes, two cucumber slices, no red onion, green olives, and romaine lettuce with a few baby spinach leaves on top. When I asked about the tomatoes the waitress said that it didn't come with tomatoes. I was... More

Recently written up and a front page story In the New York Times, this quaint little family-owned restaurant is worth your time to go experience! Home cooked food that is delicious. Service that is very professional, prompt and very down-homey. All the stresses of the day just seem to fade away while you're sitting in there enjoying the ambience. There's... More

This diner was featured in a massive article in The New York Times about a week ago. As I was passing through the area I thought I'd stop in and check Donna's out. Three generations were working that day, and it was a pleasure chatting with each of them. The breakfast platter was plentiful and many of the ingredients (sausage... More
