I am a fan of this place! It is warm, comfortable and the food is quite marvelous. Three of us had the fish soup which is a meal on its own and I had the pate which was nice and had a very good chutney with it. One of us had a maincourse of skate (she sucked the bones it... More

Spacious, light, airy, tables well spaced, great oysters, risotto, dog friendly, cheerful staff, well kept beer. We ate out five times whilst staying in Alderburgh and this lunch was unanimously (party of 4) our favourite

We hadn't booked for Easter Sunday but arrived at noon and a table was found for us straightaway. The pub has a lot of quirky character and the food was of very good quality. The roast beef was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and informal. It's a great place for a meal if you're visiting Snape Maltings.

We enjoyed a selection of starters all of which were delicious, especially the prawn and veggie Bhaji. The second night we ordered mains as well and couldn't decide as there were so many excellent choices from the specials; the duck and lamb shank won the day. The service was excellent and the wine choices perfect!

Just had a wonderful meal out at The Plough & Sail and loved it. Great people and service, lovely food and best of all the dog was welcome and brought his own bowl of water. Made happy by the fact that when asked "how would you like your steak cooked?" They really will get it right. Happy days. A bill... More

We visited for lunch and will be back. An excellent and varied menu catered for, and delighted, everyone and the location is just right for a postprandial stroll.

When we walked in we knew that we wanted to eat here but those few words fill you with dread "have you booked?" Which of course we hadn't. Very quick to sort us a table out and the food was fantastic and no delay caused by us not having a starter! Would recommend the Beef Roast and the Sausage and... More

After a wonderful walk around Snape Warren nineteen ramblers descended on the Plough & Sail for lunch. Whenever I organise a walk I am always worried whether my fellow ramblers will enjoy their lunch. I can honestly say that the pub provided a superb meal - the roast beef was superb! The service was friendly and very professional. In fact... More
