Front of house staff were friendly and welcoming, apart from the owner who was not. The restaurant was very full and clearly popular with an older crowd. 12 of us went here for a family birthday (80th). Our family are regulars (so that must say something!) The staff are great, the food is lovely, the building, furniture and ambience is wonderful. Taking that all in to account, it's worth the money.

Excellent food and service in a lovely setting very reasonably priced. Would say this more for the middle aged and older generation.

We have stayed here many many times, and have just returned from yet another stay, which was a birthday treat. As usual, it was everything that we have to expect. Staff attentive, efficient but not intrusive. Food lovely, room lovely, cannot fault this place. Looking gorwar drew to returning again sooner rather than later

Went to the Brickwall for a works dinner (8 of us) and it was lovely! Food was incredible!!!! Service was slow to start - we had to ask four different waiters/waitresses before we could order drinks but after that, for the rest of the evening they were very good. The restaurant manager was a lovely man and made us feel... More

Husband and I did a late booking for 4 nights , Monday-Friday, so we could explore the area. Very old, quirky building with beams, low doors, sloping floors and leaded windows. There is a newer extension but didn't see the rooms there and we were happy to be in the original building. Our room (7) was comfortable, with windows on... More

We booked a table for a week day evening for 5 people. I had expected good things but was disappointed from start to finish. The service was terrible and they were clearly pre occupied by a larger table of people. Even with this being the case, the food was awful. The flavour of the steak was masked by a poor... More
