Me and my partner regularly visit The Barley Mow and they never let us down; on both service and the excellent food! It's a very welcoming pub and although we don't live locally, we are happy to travel to enjoy a nice meal. One of our favourites is the ham, egg and chips!

Lovely sunday roast - great family meal. Warm and friendly service. Beautiful countryside setting. Would definitely visit again.

As a local to the barley mow I regularly drink and eat at the pub weekly. The food, drink and atmosphere is always good with a lovely country pub feel. I was compelled to write though as the sunday roast was special. One of best pub roasts I have ever had. Roast beef was like velvet and very tasty. Proper... More

Booked a table for the four of us for lunch today. Having looked at the website was quite impressed with the Sunday lunch menu. Liked that you could pay an extra £2 for a large plate, especially with hungry children. Meats offered were beef, chicken or pork (with crackling), I asked if the beef would be rare and was told... Our favourite pub for a lazy Sunday afternoon in a rural setting. Bring the kids and the dogs and enjoy the afternoon in a very friendly environment. Go for a walk on the canal and have a pint with the best bangers and mash in the area.

We love going to the Barley Mow in Winchfield. It is located just across from the Basingstoke canal and is a great place to relax and warm up after a long dog walk....or alternatively in the summer, cool down with something cold in the beer garden!! It's a bonus that it's dog friendly too - they even have a treat... More

It was a real shame & very disappointing. After a nice walk along the canal we thought we would get good food here. The special board had 5 things but 2 were not available..not because they had sold just not on the menu, well take them off. Every pub has steak & ale pie again not available. We should have... Thought would try this local with friends for Sunday lunch. Apart from Sunday Roasts, rest of menu pretty boring. No unbuttered fish on menu, little for any vegie's in the area. Overall a disappointment. Seemed expensive for what it was - plus they add a 10% service charge for Bank Holidays, Sundays as well as parties of 6 or more

We came as a group of 8 (4 adults and 4 children). The pub has a nice homely feel. We came on a Sunday and had a combination of roast dinners and children's menu items. The food was very nice and comforting. The waiting staff were very nice but forgot one of our meals and the food itself seemed to... More

Popped by for lunch with parents this week and disappointed with our lunch as having read that dogs were not allowed in conservatory we opted to sit there. Twice the pub's dog came in and interfered with our lunch to which staff member or maybe owner said to dog "you know you are not allowed in here !' Something out... More
