The Greyhound is still providing and excellent choice and high quality. Last week we ordered ENGLISH, Thai and Italian main courses and they were perfect. The venue is good for special occasions, romantic meals or a casual night out. You can't go wrong here if you're in Hampshire. Frank p

My family recently took me to the Greyhound for lunch to celebrate my birthday - our first visit and overall pretty good, although not great. A reasonably varied menu, including local game and fish plus some reliable pub grub favourites such as hearty soups, burgers and steaks. Only real issue with the food was my wife's salmon which wasn't properly... More

Over the years the Greyhound has been great and very average. The owners now run a first rate restaurant with excellent accommodation.

friday night last minute booking in a very busy restaurant - a good way to start the new year weekend. food good though some dishes outstanding - lemon sole - and others just ok (crispy squid). Wine list reasonably priced and waiting staff couldnt do enough to mske sure we were all happy. Perhaps slightly overpriced for the quality of... More

Popped in with friends to celebrate a 60th birthday. Setting is lovely by the river test. We all had fish and chips and it was a great choice. the fish was fresh and full of flavour. the dessert of pear and quince crumble was excellent, so good to have freshly prepared food. It would have been better with custard but... More

Sat outside in September and enjoyed a selection from a fabulous wine list, and a great choice of mostly locally sourced food. Although we didn't stay over this time, it is always nice to stay the evening and enjoy one of the modern traditional rooms, with some fun accessories, great toiletries and furnishings.

Special events a restaurants and pubs can all too often mean boring, less than special food, service and company. Last night's Gin Dinner at The Greyhound was a stellar example of what happens when an establishment gets it right. The evening began with a welcome gin cocktail, followed by a meal with paired gin based drinks. To say that the... More

The waitress didn't so much recommend the kedgeree as simple sighed and nodded saying "It's chef's signature dish" So drum roll...how good was it...well "sigh, nodding" go and find out yourself.but... Popped in here for lunch on a wet Saturday after a dissapointing visit elsewhere. This was a delight. Managed 3 courses, the cheeses were delicious especially with a glass of port. We were overcharged but soon sorted.
