My parents and I chose to visit this pub on Easter Sunday in the hope of enjoying a good old Sunday roast and we certainly weren't disappointed. Despite us leaving it late to book and it being a very busy weekend we were accommodated no problem and when we arrived our table was ready for us even though it was... More

Six adults and one baby had lunch here yesterday, Easter Sunday. The food was appalling. My husband's starter had a foot long hair in it. His main of duck leg was dry, overcooked and was tasteless and almost definitely not freshly cooked. The vegetables were unseasoned and bland. My starter of bruschetta was just about passable, albeit flavourless. The prosciutto... More

We are sorry that you have felt it necessary to go along this route as we understood that the situation was dealt with on the day. After discussions we gave you a discount on all meals and free desserts. You left a £10 tip which in our experience people who are unhappy with their meals do not leave tips. We... More

Very accommodating to my requirements and nothing is too much. Excellent service and lovely calm atmosphere. The roast was very good, plenty of it and a lovely dessert to finish. The menu and specials board is varied and caters for all needs. Look forward to our next visit.

Sadly there was no improvement when we gave them another chance. When discussing the menu with the waitress we asked her what her opinion of the scallops was to be told not to have them! This did not augur well so we played safe and had burgers which were...burgers. Dry bun and not very good. Chips OK but not brilliant.... More

Dear Michael I can not and do not believe that my waitress would say "not to have them". She is part of our team and has been for a long time and the amount of scallops we have sold shows how good they were. As for the burgers, we sell hundreds of these a week and all we hear from... More

This place has a very local feel when you walk in but the added bonus of a good sized restaurant to dine away from the bar area. Booked by phone with a very friendly barmaid who welcomed us as we got there too. Very attentive service with great food at very reasonable prices. Also a very good sized garden will... More

We wanted to take our daughter and her partner and our 1 year old granddaughter out for a nice lunch. Obviously everywhere was booked in advance for Mother's Day, but we were offered a table on the patio. It was a lovely sunny, but breezy day. We found a fairly sheltered table, service was prompt and very polite. The meals... More

My friends and I visit the Crown probably once every 4 to 5 weeks for lunch at the end of our Wednesday walk. The hospitality and food are first rare. The menu caters for all tastes and the prices are sensible. Whether it's a snack or a full meal you will not be disappointed. We love the place and highly... More

The best 'Frenchie' burger ever! Staff as usual friendly and attentive. Why go into Deal when you have this amazing pub so close by. Value for money, superb choice of menu and always a wonderful welcome from Ben, Michaela and other staff. Many thanks.
