Pouring rain made us seek out somewhere to sit and relax and we came across this Resturant. What a gem! We had the day plate of mackerel, crushed potatoes, samphire and a butter and cockle sauce with a portion of sardines on the side. Fresh...and tasty. Service fabulous. Will definitely visit again.More

We had the most wonderful late lunch in Samphire. It was so good that we returned for breakfast the next day! Thoroughly recommend. The bread and olives alone were divine - before you even get to the delicious mains and dessert. A great menu and...great service. It does close around 4pm for a few hours before dinner and book in advance to avoid disappointment!More

Popped in for a quick breakfast, service was great but food was very disappointing. We asked for extra avocado on the full English but it arrived brown and inedible. The sausage was quite raw in the middle I couldn’t eat it all. The fresh orange...juice and Bloody Mary were very good though! Not from the area but won’t be back soonMore

The mussels in cider as per the menu were very salty. Would not recommend it. Also the waitress who served it does not know how to serve. She put the pot on the table and walked away. How was one to lift the hot lid...off the pot. Had to call her back and she went off to fetch some paper towels to lift the lid and left the lid wrong way. The lid was meant to be turned over to collect the shells. That is not good service. Have eaten this dish many times and was served correctly hence the bad review. The restaurant can get away with bad service and expensive food with tourists who doesn't know better and frankly there wasn't an abundance of restaurants opened for dinner.More

This was our third time at Samphire, and we were very disappointed - having had good experiences on the previous occasion. I'm not sure if they have changed chef recently, but the quality of the food has gone downhill, so that it now compares very...unfavourably with other restaurants in Whitstable. For example the fish pie, previously a favourite of ours, was tasteless and bland in the extreme. The trout was badly overcooked, and the ingredients in the cassoulet seemed like they had only been introduced to each other as they were put on the plate. The service was perfunctory, whereas on both previous visits it's been friendly and attentive. We have recommended Samphire to many of our friends, but it's unlikely we will again. Very badly let down.More

Could not fault the experience at all - the food was delicious salt cod croquettes with squid ink aioli & mussels with cider, thyme & garlic…. Possibly 2 of the best dishes I have eaten in a really long time! Staff was also super attentive...and made you feel very welcome! We will be back!More

I was expecting, well….. Customer service was very good but I am afraid standards need to be lifted. I would normally be writing a review on the food but I think I need to return for another visit

Samphire was recommended to me by a friend and it is a superb little cozy restaurant. First time to Whitstable and had a lovely little dinner here at Samphire. The staff were very friendly and we were sat near the kitchen and it was heaven....The heavenly cooking smell from the kitchen made me food envy every dish that came out. Would highly recommend this place and I will be back again.More

We had a delicious meal here - excellent service and nice setting. Table was perhaps a little small for 6 of us, but we managed. Good corkage prices!

Second time in Samphire and we weren't disappointed. Absolutely every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. The ham starter was huge (plenty to share) and the whipped cods roe was gorgeous. We also tried the courgette, broad bean and pea salad - lovely. For mains...we had huge servings of belly of pork, delicious trout and a 'special' of cod with mussel risotto. We were so full but we managed to share a cherry and a ginger icecream. The atmosphere was buzzy (perhaps even a little noisy) but this was helped by England winning their Euro match. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful evening. We will come back.More
