Food was great, the local wine was lovely and the service was really, really good too. Wished we'd ordered a bottle of wine rather than by the glass but that was our fault, not theirs... 9.5/10.

We had a rare day out without the kids, stopped here for a very enjoyable lunch, we ordered fish pie and the goats cheese and courgette fritters. We both really enjoyed the food and we would definitely go back here on our next visit.

We had delicious mussels and the fish was fresh. The duck was made beautifully. The manager was wonderful. The ambience was good and we had an enjoyable afternoon out visiting Whitstable.

Two of our party eat the salted vegetables, which were dissapointing. For £15 I expected more than a pile of half raw chunky veg with a tomato sauce and a few grams of cheese - two and half stars. The other two had the fish pie which they said was nice and gave three and half stars - though no... More

Sit in the window and observe Victorian Whitstable. But mainly this is a good food choice. Unique, incredible menu. A treat in a tourist town. Well worth a visit

With our family visiting for the weekend with their 2 year old son we booked a Sunday brunch at fairly short notice and were fortunate to be able to reserve a table as this is a very popular restaurant. On arrival we were welcomed and directed to our table - the name and time is chalked on the wooden table... More

Had a fantastic dinner at Samphire. For me the lamb was the highlight - immaculately cooked and a wonderful pesto and garlic sauce. The mussels in cider were so juicy and the coffee creme brûlée was a very successful twist on the classic. It's a friendly, busy place with a great bistro atmosphere. Very good service and a most enjoyable... More

In Whitstable for a few days, we were seduced by the generally good reviews and booked for dinner. We ordered two pre-dinner cocktails, a bottle of wine, two starters and mains, and a cheeseboard to share. Asparagus with Duck egg as impossible to fault; Gin-cured salmon didn't really have any gin taste, but was generous and served with exceptionally-fresh salad... More
