We called in here for lunch on our way to the Monk Fryston Hall Hotel. We really enjoyed the fish and chips and sandwiches. The staff were friendly and I would recommend this pub. Good value for money.

Great food and service. Excellent access for wheelchair customer including fully equipped accessible toilet. Also the additional half size menu is great for older people with smaller appetites.

Yet again what a fantastic Sunday lunch, we started with the best home made crab pate, a very popular dish and may run out as it is home made and not bought from the supermarket, then not sure what to have so been undecided I ask for half and half ( that's half beef and pork with all the trimmings)... We called in at the crown inn on our way home from scarborough. Although fully booked they served us at a table near the bar. The sunday lunch was excellent and good value for money. We hope to return sooner rather than later

We finally called in for Sunday lunch after years of passing and saying that we must try this place. We both now wish that we had done so a lot sooner. As we only rang and booked 30mins before actually arriving we had to settle for a table in the bar rather than the restaurant/dining area. On this occasion it... More

This pub offers a reasonable choice of dishes and table service, so outshines the usual carvery Sunday lunch. The dining areas are not too crowded even when the place is very busy (but car parking is limited). There is a good selection of beers and a fair wine list. It is child-friendly, and there is a play area outside with... More

I recommend eating at this very friendly pub. I had the chicken balti which was delicious - my 2 friends had fish and chips which they said was really good. The landlord was very keen to make sure we were happy and that everything was ok and the waitresses were very attentive . It was a great experience eating here... More

Having dined at The Crown a few times on an evening, we had Sunday lunch for the first time last week. There were 8 in our party including some quite fussy diners, the food (all courses) were excellent, as was the service. We had elderly relatives with us and the team at The Crown couldn't have been more attentive. Good... More

Description
Originally a busy coaching inn dating back to the 1600s, The Crown Inn is a warm and welcoming pub restaurant in the picturesque village of Monk Fryston. The Crown is under new management and our kitchen has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, allowing us to create a brand new menu of traditional pub classics and modern English dishes, freshly prepared using only the best locally sourced ingredients, with something for all tastes, and of course all served with great Yorkshire hospitality. Our menus change regularly taking advantage of seasonal produce, and, of course, our friendly service comes at no extra charge. At the bar you'll find a selection of regularly changing hand-pulled ales and the wine list offers something for everyone's taste! Whether you're here to enjoy a three course meal, a light bite for lunch or just an evening drink with friends, visiting us is always a great experience. "We look forward to welcoming you to The Crown Inn." Andrew Melhuish, Chef Proprietor.
