Every time we go in here at Lunctime the waitress asks "The usual?", and every time we say "Yes". We may be predictable but so is the food, consistent quality and portions and in our opinion the best value in Morpeth.

This cafe really has home cooked fare down to a fine art. Mince and dumplings or a roast dinner are made from scratch and are delicious. The portions are huge! There is a good two course offer as well as an extensive menu to choose...More

A good variety of pies but the steak and kidney pie got my vote. Lots of filling, great pastry and the accompanying vegetables were all piping hot which tends to be a rare occurrence. Very friendly staff and good value for money.

Called for Lunch today. This restaurant is a real gem. Nothing fancy but good wholesome local food, cooked just the way mother did. Well done the team we think you are all great.

I went to the Old Bakehouse for lunch today and really wished I hadn't. The specials board had a range of things, most of them being meat or fish dishes - which is fine. It's also fine for some people to be vegetarian. Here's a...More

We happened on the old Bakehouse quite accidentally. We were travelling north from Newcastle trying to avoid the main drag. We parked in the main street and walked until we saw the sign. The service in this place is absolutely without peer. The people are...More

Yes! The chips and beans are very tasty , the chips are cooked in canola oil. The healthy way to fry chips. The baked beans are of the Branston variety. A very tasty combo to say the least.......
