A pleasant enough environment however beer is below average and the price of it above. Considering this is a brewery owned establishment you would think they would keep their beer better. Service was weak as well, talking on the mobile takes priority over serving customers

Four adults and a baby dropped in for Sunday lunch and were given a warm welcome. Quite busy but the staff coped with a smile and excellent service. The food and drink could not be faulted and the price was reasonable. Highly recommended.

The most amazing food ever, lovely atmosphere, helpful bar staff, but the 8oz ribeye steak and chocolate fudge cake were amazing, thank you for a pleasant evening.

Its a nice environment and has a cosy feel but there's much room for improvement and I'd say its going downhill The prices for drinks and food are far too high , £2.70 for a small tonic water is robbery, and meals were £16 - 18 on the board although we didn't eat on this occasion. Service was surprisingly slow... More

I have visited here numerous times over the years. My husband and I called in here for lunch on mid-December Monday. The pub did have a few customers eating. We ordered some drinks. The bar we sat in had a roaring fire and was very cosy. After a couple of pints we decided to order lunch with a bottle of... More

Thame was heaving on the next to last Saturday before Christmas. All the eateries were busy and no doubt the managers enjoying the chiming of the till! At the six bells the manager walked straight past us without any sign of a greeting (obviously doesn't need our custom!). At the bar the young lady serving had not a clue about... More

On first appearances I was hopeful. It is in a lovely setting and a quaint and characterful building. The staff were nice but didn't seem to be very clued up. My friend ordered a brandy and ginger and was served ginger beer not ginger ale. We also paid £9 for a lime and lemonade and a brandy and ginger. The... More

A great pity as this place looked so nice at first. Incompetent service by cheerful but fairly useless boys behind the bar - confused vegetarian burger with curry when ordering. Apologised and rectified but we heard quite clearly the four letter words they exchanged behind the bar. Not very professional by any count! There is an optimum time between main... More

We stopped for lunch in this beautiful pub on a Sunday afternoon. We had not booked and the dining area was full so we sat in the bar area. It was lovely. Bright, comfortable & homely. The staff were friendly. I always struggle to find a good vegetarian in most pubs but not the case here. I had the Sweet... More

A warm and friendly place to brighten up a cold wet Saturday afternoon. The food was excellent and very generous portion sizes. The staff were friendly and very attentive. This was my first time eating in the restaurant as I'm new to the area and I'm already planning my next visit. The atmosphere was quietly buzzing full of small groups... More
