What a fabulous place. Hidden in country lanes and on a working farm. The food is amazing, the staff attentive and the inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated. Lots of awards on the shelf which are well deserved. I certainly recommend you give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. My only advise is to go hungry... More

Really nice place and very pleasant and attentive staff. I had the Market Menu which they currently serve on a Wednesday and Thursday and was excellent value for money at £19.95 for three courses. Highly recommend it.

Decided to try Clavelshays Barn as it looked interesting on their web site. Devil of a place to find, definitely needed the satnav. Was booked in for 7pm as, it would seem, were most of the diners. We all had to wait in the car park until the doors opened on the dot of seven. Lovely modern barn type building... More

This was our second trip to this delightful restaurant and it just gets better. The food is exquisite, the staff are so attentive and overall ambience superb. If you are looking for somewhere that stacks your plate with chips and burgers then this is not for you, here you will find the style and quality of food as seen on... More

Excellent all the way. Only fault was it was a little hard to find, but worth the country lanes to find it. Best way leave A38 at Thruloxton (Maple Inn) go past pub go straight then right then left

Very professional and helpful front of house, nothing is to much trouble what ever you ask about your meal. Food sourced local with a twist of French and English. Very relaxing atmosphere with tables far enough away to chat and not interfere with the next which is very cosy The host and chef are very helpful in what ever your... More

First time to try this restaurant and took advantage of the February Exmoor Foodfest with 2 courses for £10 or 3 or £15. 3 choices per course on limited menu as to be expected but all were delicious and will definitely go back to sample the full menu. Only criticism was that the wine was a bit expensive especially by... More

What a find, my wife's friend recommended this to us and we have been several times since our first visit. Your never going to stumble across this place so word of mouth is key. Very nice ambience in a beautiful setting, menu is small but offers enough choice for any taste. We have eaten here as a couple and the... More

We've eaten here several times so it's about time I put finger to keyboard. I imagine that Clavelshay Barn does not pick up much, if any, passing trade: it's somewhat off the beaten track. It is, however, worth the effort and drive once you've booked, which, I'm guessing, is essential. To give you an idea; the first time we came... More
